Metropolitan Amfilohije comes to Argentina

November 2011 - 13:35According to the decision of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church from this year's session in May on creating of a new Diocese of Buenos Aires and South-Central American with a seat in Buenos Aires and on placing His Eminence Amfilohije Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral for the administrator of a newly-founded diocese until the election and the enthronement of the Diocesan bishop, Metropolitan Amfilohije came to Argentina, on October 22, 2011 on the feast day of St. Apostle Jacob Alfeyev and St. Stephen the Blind, a despot of Serbia, in order to organize a new Diocese.

November 2011 - 12:02The Committee of the Holy Assembly of Bishops for the preparation of marking the 1700th anniversary of the Edict of Milan as a co-organizer along with the Association of non-government organizations of South-East Europe - CIVIS, Austrian foundation PRO ORIENTE and Swiss PEACE AND CRISIS MANAGEMENT FOUNDATION organizes a promotion of the book - collection of works of the conference participants UNCHANGING VALUE AND PERMANENT ACTUALITY OF THE EDICT OF MILAN - TOWARDS THE GREAT JUBILEE OF 2013, which was held in Nis, at the St. Sava's House of the Diocese of Nis, from February 24-26 of this year.

in a great amphitheatre of the Faculty of the Orthodox Theology

At the promotion about this collection of works will be discussed by: His Grace Bishop Dr Irinej of Backa, His Grace Bishop Dr Porfirije of Jegar, Professor Dr Bogoljub Sijakovic, monsignor Dr Andrija Kopilovic and Ms. Mirjana Prljevic, the international secretary general of the CIVIS Association.
Promotion of a new book: Full Serbian Translation of the Holy Bible

November 2011 - 11:00On Friday, October 28, at the Book Fair there was a presentation of the first edition of the Holy Bible Old and New Testament with translated deuterocanonical books of the Old Testament, which were translated into the modern Serbian language by His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and retired Bishop Atanasije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina. In the presence of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch and Their Graces Bishops Hrizostom of Zica and George of Canada, about this edition of the Holy Synod of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church it was spoken by the member of the Synod Bishop Irinej of Backa and the vicar of Serbian Patriarch Irinej Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno.
Archbishop Jovan of Ohrid defends doctoral thesis at Faculty of Theology in Thessaloniki

November 2011 - 10:56His Beatitude Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje kyr kyr Jovan defended on October 31, 2011 a doctoral thesis on theme Unity of Church and the modern church problems: Comparative presentation of theology of Saint Maximus the Confessor, at the Faculty of Theology of the University in Thessaloniki. The seven-member committee of professors Chrysostomos Stamulis (as a mentor), Georgios Marcelos, Demetrios Tselengidis, Petros Vasiliadis, Yanis Kurembele, Stylianos Tsobanidis and Nicholai Mangioras, graded the work and the defense with an excellent mark.
Feast Day of St. Peter of Cetinje in Cetinje

November 2011 - 12:29Yesterday the feast day of St. Peter of Cetinje and the feast day of St. Apostle and Evangelist Luke was celebrated in Cetinje with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Cetinje monastery which was served by Bishops of our local Church, holiday's spiritual academy and the slava's table of Christian love.

November 2011 - 11:22On the Eve of the feast day of St. Peter of Cetinje the Wonderworker and Saint Luke the Apostle and Evangelist in the Cetinje monastery the evening holiday's service was held by His Grace Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren, with the concelebration of priests and prayerful participation of Their Graces bishops Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic, Jovan of Lipljan and retired Atanasije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina, as well as many believers.
