His Holiness IRINEJ, Serbian Patriarch served this morning the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the monastery of Vavedenje in Belgrade. His Holiness was concelebrated by protopresbyter Jovo Ratkovic - spiritual elder of the monastery who is retired, protopresbyter-staurophor Miodrag Popovic, protodeacon Stevan Rapajic and deacon Dragan Tanasijevic. After the Holy Liturgy His Holiness served a memorial service to Metropolitan Josif Cvijovic on the occasion of the annual of his death.

Locum Tenens of the Diocese of Raska-Prizren and Kosovo-Metohija His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral and Vicar Bishop Teodosije of Lipljan strongly condemned the terroristic attack in Northern Mitrovica in which doctor Mesud Dzekovic was murdered and 11 persons injured.
Patriarch Kyrill of Moscow receives Secretary General of the World Council of Churches

In Moscow, on June 28,2010, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia met with Dr Olav Fyske Tveit, the Secretary General of the World Council of Churches (WCC). His Holiness explained to Dr Tveit why Orthodox are alienated from the ecumenical organisation. Patriarch Kirill said that the WCC is in the midst of a protracted crisis, according to the MP official website. He believes that it is caused by the contradiction between a declared desire for Christian unity and the exacerbation of differences among Christians on some questions, particularly in the area of morality. The Patriarch said that attempts to alter the rules of Christian morality within some Protestant communities contribute to the alienation of the Orthodox from the WCC. Orthodox must attend to such currents; otherwise, it would be a departure from the truth and become the grounds for contention amongst the Local Orthodox Churches.

Reception of evangelical priests from Switzerland in the Serbian Patriarchate

His Holiness Patriarch IRINEJ of Serbia received today in the Patriarchate chapel of St. Symeon the Myrrh-Gusher a delegation of evangelical vicar priests led by the Revd Hans Strub. The reception was attended Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, Vicar of Patriarch. The reception and the arrival of the evangelical priests was organized by M.Sc. Sasa Branisavljevic, who is preparing his doctoral dissertation at the Faculty of the Theology of the University of Zurich.
