Bishop Teodosije receives NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen in Visoki Decani Monastery

Vicar Bishop Teodosije of Lipljan and Hierachal deputy of the Diocese of Raska-Prizren received today in the Visoki Decani Monastery Anders Fogh Rasmussen, NATO Secretary General, and group of ten ambassadors of the countries, members of the NATO alliance. In one-hour talk Bishop Teodosije talked about hard security situation in which still are Kosovo Serbs and sanctuaries of the SOC on the territory of Kosovo and Metohija. Particularly was emphasized a concern about series of attacks on the Serbian returnees in Metohija village of Zac, which also showed that for the Serbian returnees in Kosovo and Metohija still there in no minimum of liberty and warranty for normal and safe life.

Soup kitchen opened in Metohija village of Vidanje

 With the blessing of the administrator of the Diocese, Bishop Teodosije, together with priests Bogomir Stević and Slobodan Trajković, today opened a sixth soup kitchen in the village of Vidanje in Metohija, which will provide food for 250 socially most vulnerable persons on the territory of municipality of Istok and Klina. This soup kitchen and five others that are working in other parts of Kosovo and Metohija are operated by the NGO "Majka devet Jugovića" (Mother of the Nine Jugoviches), which is headed by presbytera Svetlana Stević. The opening of the first soup kitchen in Metohija is another in a series of efforts by the Diocese of Raška and Prizren and the NGO "Mother of the Nine Jugoviches" to help those who are most in need of help. The NGO "Mother of the Nine Jugoviches" provides regular meals for 1700 socially vulnerable persons in Kosovo and Metohija.

Metropolitan Hilarion leads worship at Shroud of Turin

Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, head of the Moscow Patriarchate's department for external church relations, who is on a visit to Italy with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, officiated at martins at the Shroud in the cathedral of Turin, on 17 May 2010.

The DECR chairman was assisted by Archbishop Feofan of Berlin and Germany, Archbishop Innokenty of Korsun, administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate parishes in Italy; Archbishops Kirill of Yaroslavl and Rostov, Feognost of Sergiev Posad and Yelisey of Surozh, as well as Bishop Michael of Geneva and Western Europe (Russian Church Outside Russia), about one hundred priests and deacons from Russia and countries of the far and near abroad.
