Order of St Sava presented to academician Miodrag Pavlovic
His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of
Montenegro and the Littoral, on behalf of his Holiness Patriarch Pavle of
Serbia, presented today, on the occasion
of 80 years of life, to academician and poet Miodrag Pavlovic the Order of St.
Sava for his demonstrated love to the Holy Mother Church, particularly
manifested by the priceless contribution to our cultural heritage and a true testimony
of the orthodox spirituality.
Presenting this high distinction of the Serbian Orthodox Church Metropolitan Amfilohije emphasized how a poetry of academician Miodrag Pavlovic is a sequel of the poetry and the spirituality which was given to our people by Saint Sava and then kept and preserved by the tradition of our fathers.
Expressing his thanks for this high acknowledgement,
academician Pavlovic stressed that his poetry is established on spiritual sources of our medieval poetry and spirituality which we had received from Saint Sava and the Mother Church.
The presentation of ordeal was attended by the members of the Holy Synod of Bishops, church dignitaries and friends of academician Pavlovic.
