Bible society publishes The Patriarchate Of Jerusalem’s New Testament in Arabic

On Friday, the 4th/ 17th of October 2014, the Palestinian Bible Society hosted an event at the “Convention Center” of the Palestinian Autonomy, between Bethlehem and Hebron. His Beatitude, Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem, attended the event, accompanied by the Elder Secretary-General, Archbishop Aristarchos of Constantina, Archdeacon Evlogios, priests from the occupied areas, i.e. the Hagiotaphite Protosyncellus Leontios, vicar in Rafidia; f. Emmanuel, vicar in Aboud Community; f. Boulos, vicar in Beit-Jalla; and f. Issa Mousleh, the Arab-speaking Mass Media Liaison – as well as faithful from the Patriarchate’s Orthodox flock.

A New eucharistic community formed in french Valance

October 18, 2014 – the Divine Liturgy was celebrated in Valance, department of Drome, France, at numerous requests of Orthodox town people and with the blessing of Bishop Nestor of Chersonese. The Sacrament of the Eucharist was celebrated in the Catholic church of St. Peter, the First Apostle, offered to the Orthodox community in Valance by the local Catholic diocese.

On the eve of the great feast day of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God, on October 13th of this year, at the St. Sava Monastery in Libertyville, Illinois, the Clergy Brotherhood of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North and South America held its meeting. The brotherly assembly began with prayer, at noon, serving an Akathist Hymn to St. Nicholai of Zica and Ochrid. His Grace Kyr Longin, Bishop of New Gracanica – Midwestern American Diocese officiated. Following the service, Vladika addressed the clergy and all present with fatherly words, invoked God's blessing on all, and wished a successful assembly. In the monastery's dormitory a delicious lunch was served to the gathering of clergy, students of the School of Theology, and other guests.

 On Saturday morning, October 18, 2014, His All-Holiness presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Patriarchal Church of St. George for the consecration of Metropolitan Amphilochios of Adrianopolis.

Toronto Conference on the Ecumenical Patriarchate

On Tuesday, October 21, 2014, the Greek Orthodox Metropolis of Toronto held a conference on the Ecumenical Patriarchate entitled Reflecting on the Past; Looking toward the Future. The conference was opened by His Eminence Metropolitan Sotirios of Toronto, followed by two personal Video Messages by His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew (in Greek and in English). The presentations by various scholars and specialists covered the historical and ecclesiastical role of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, its missionary work and struggle for religious freedom, as well as the persistent efforts of its Archons of the Order of St. Andrew to serve the needs and promote the rights of Orthodox Christians throughout the world.
