Delegation of Bulgarian Orthodox Church visits Sretensky monastery in Moscow

On May 25, 2014, His Holiness Neophyte of Bulgaria, while on a peace visit to the Russian Orthodox Church, visited the Sretensky Stavropegic Monastery in Moscow.

His Holiness and his large party were welcomed to the monastery by its father superior, Archimandrite Tikhon (Shevkunov), who introduced his high guests to the history of the Sretensky Monastery. Then Patriarch Neophyte proceeded to the Cathedral Church of Our Lady of Vladimir and venerated the relics of the Holy Martyr Hilarion (Troitsky) in it.

Prayer Service of Thanksgiving at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher

 His Holiness Pope Francis and His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew participate in the Prayer Service of Thanksgiving at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios of America were also present in the Church of the Holy Sepulcher with other bishops of the Patriarchal Delegation. Pope Francis and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew venerated the Stone of Unction where Jesus was anointed before burial after which they participated in the Prayer Service of  Thanksgiving.

Jerusalem Meeting of Patriarch Bartholomew and Pope Francis

On Sunday, May 25, 2014, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew and Pope Francis will convene at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem to commemorate a meeting in the Holy Land held fifty years ago by their predecessors, Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras and Pope Paul VI.

 His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew arrives at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem where he venerates the place where Jesus was born and celebrates the Doxology of Thanksgiving.

Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Resurrection in Jerusalem

His All-Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew presides over Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew officiated at the Patriarchal and Hierarchal co-celebration in the Church of the Resurrection in Jerusalem, also serving were Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos III, the clergy of the Synod of the Ecumenical Throne and the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the priests and deacons, Sunday, May 25, 2014. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew is currently in in Jerusalem tonight where he will meet with Pope Francis.
