High Patriarchal award to Metropolitan Iriney of Dnepropetrovsk at the Border Control Point of Dnepropetrovsk Airport

On 10 May 2014, Metropolitan Iriney of Dnepropetrovsk celebrated his 75th birthday.

With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Department for External Church Relations, arrived in Dnepropetrovsk on the 9th of May, to take part in the celebrations dedicated to the jubilee of the esteemed hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church.

Russia’s State Duma deputies visit Belgrade Representation of Russian Orthodox Church

On May 5, 2014, a group of Russia’s State Duma deputies led by I. Melnikov visited the Belgrade Representation of the Russian Orthodox Church. At the church of the Holy Trinity, its rector, Archpriest Vitalij Tarasjev, conducted the requiem service for the Russian soldiers who died in action during World War I.

After that, Father Vitalij introduced the guests to the history of the Representation and the spiritual life of the Russian church community in the Serbian capital city.

King of Bahrain receives Patriarch of Antioch

His Majesty, king of Bahrain, receives H​is Beatitude John X in a private meeting

His Majesty, king Hamad Bin Issa Al-Khalifa, with many officials in the kingdom, received at his royal palace in Manamah His Beatitude John X Patriarch of Antioch and all the East.

His Beatitude was accompanied by His Eminence Isaac (Barakat) Metropolitan of Germany and Central Europe, and His Grace Efraim (Maalouli) the patriarchal vicar.

On Tuesday the 16th/29th of April 2014, His Eminence, Archbishop Leo of Karelia and All Finland visited the Patriarchate of Jerusalem, accompanied by three clerics, a nun and a subdeacon.

Earlier on the same day, the Archbishop of Finland was welcomed at Ben Gurion Airport by the Most Reverend Isychios, Metropolitan of Kapitolias; His Eminence Theophylaktos, Archbishop of Jordan, and the Director of the Christian Affairs Department at the Israeli Ministry of Religious Affairs, Mr Cesar Margie.

At 6:00 pm of the same day, the Archbishop of Finland was officially welcomed at David’s Gate by the representative of the Patriarch of Jerusalem, Patriarchal Commissioner Isychios, Metropolitan of Kapitolias, and Hagiotaphite Fathers. Also present were representatives of the Christian Churches in Jerusalem, Mr Cesar Margie, the Finnish Ambassador to Israel, Mrs Leena-Kaisa Mikkola, and a crowd of Orthodox people.

The Princess of Romania visits the Patriarchate of Jerusalem

On Wednesday the 17th/30th of April 2014, Princess Margareta of Romania, Custodian of the Romanian Crown, and HRH Prince Radu, visited the Patriarchate.

These highly esteemed visitors were warmly received by His Beatitude Theophilos, our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem, and Hagiotaphite Fathers.

The prince couple reported how happy and touched they were for being received by the Patriarch of the Mother of Churches during the period of the resurrection, and that they had already been received by the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Patriarchate of Alexandria, the Patriarchate of Serbia and the Patriarchate of Georgia.
