Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew addresses 9th World Assembly of Religions for Peace

On Friday, November 22, 2013, His All-Holiness attended and addressed the closing session of the 9th World Assembly of Religions for Peace, which was held in Vienna, Austria, from November 20-22.

The assembly brought together over 600 religious leaders from all over the world. The theme of the assembly was “Welcoming the Other.” “Religions for Peace” is the largest international coalition of leaders and representatives from the world’s greatest religions dedicated to promoting peace.

Ecumenical Patriarch at Panaghia of Pera

On November 21, 2013, the Feast Day of the Entrance of the Theotokos into the Temple, His All-Holiness presided over the Divine Liturgy at the patronal feast of the Church of Panaghia in the Pera (Beyoğlu) district of Istanbul. Alongside His All-Holiness were members of the Holy and Sacred Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

A monk accompanied by Archimandrite Zacharias from the Holy Patriarchal and Stavropegic Monastery of Saint John the Forerunner in Essex, England, was ordained to the diaconate.

On this birthday, November 20, 2013, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral Church of Christ the Saviour.

He was assisted by a great number of hierarchs and high-ranking church officials in holy orders, abbots and Moscow deans and priests.

Metropolitan Hilarion meets with Prince Hans-Adam II of Liechtenstein

On 16 November 2013, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, arrived in Vaduz, the capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, to take part in the international colloquium on the Syrian crisis.

On the day of arrival, Metropolitan Hilarion visited the Vaduz Castle and met with Prince Hans-Adam II of Liechtenstein.

Metropolitan Hilarion conveyed greetings and best wishes to the reigning Prince from His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.

On 17 November 2013, Metropolitan Hilarion of Volokolamsk, chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations, who has arrived in Vaduz, the capital of the Principality of Liechtenstein, with the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, took part in the international colloquium on the next steps in deep Syrian crisis sponsored by Hans-Adam II, the reigning Prince of Liechtenstein.
