October 2011 - 10:09The Festival of Religious Music will begin at the Moscow Church of the “Joy to All the Afflicted” icon of the Mother of God on 14 October, the feast day of the Intercession of the Mother of God. The opening is timed to coincide with the feast that enjoys a special esteem in Russia and with the commemoration day of St. Romanos the Melodus, a patron of singers and of the art of religious music.

The Patriarchate of Jerusalem condemns the desecration of the cemeteries in Ioppe

October 2011 - 10:01The Patriarchate of Jerusalem, the first Christian Church of the Holy Land, fostered through the centuries interfaith dialogue based on equality and mutual respect as well as supported the indiscriminate cohabitation and cooperation of the Jewish, the Christians and the Muslims.
Continuing Its conciliatory and peacekeeping mission, the Patriarchate condemns the actions of desecration, which have recently been done by an individual whose identity remains unknown to the detriment and damage of the Christian and Muslim Cemetery in Ioppe.
His Beatitude Theodoros II meets with Ambassador of Egypt in Zimbabwe
14. October 2011 - 9:55On 11th October 2011, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa paid an official visit to His Excellency the Ambassador of Egypt in Zimbabwe, Mr Basem Halil,who hosted an official lunch in his honour at the Ambassadorial residence in Harare.
Welcoming the Venerable Primate of the Orthodox Church of Africa, the Ambassador spoke of the centuries old fraternal relations between the Greek and Egyptian people, while also praising the contribution made by the Patriarchate of Alexandria to the traditionally harmonious co-existence between Christians and Muslims in the Land of the Nile. He also expressed the belief that Greece will be able ti overcome the present financially difficult situation.
