Patriarch Kirill meets with Ambassador of France to Russia

On 23 January 2018, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia met with H.E. Sylvie Bermann, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to the Russian Federation.

They were joined in the meeting, which took place at the Patriarchal and Synodal residence located in St. Daniel’s stavropegic monastery, by Archimandrite Philaret (Bulekov) vice-chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations; Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of France Paul-Bertrand Barets, and the first secretary of the Embassy Natalie Dupont.

Metropolitan Tikhon (OCA) offers opening prayer at March for Life

Orthodox Christian hierarchs, clergy, monastics, seminarians, laity, and thousands of others gathered in Washington D.C. on Friday for the 45th annual March for Life in protest of the national tragedy and shame of abortion. The theme of this year’s march was “Love Save Lives.”

President Poroshenko thanks Met. Onuphry for help in releasing captives

His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, the primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, met with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko on Saturday at the presidential administrative offices. The meeting was also attended by the Presidential Representative to the Trilateral Contact Group Irinia Gerascheno. The topic of the meeting was the process of the liberation of Ukrainian prisoners of war located in territories not under Ukrainian control, reports the official site of the President of Ukraine.

Patriarch Ilia of Georgia adds another 708 Godchildren in 52nd mass Baptism

His Holiness Catholicos-Patriarch Ilia II of Georgia celebrated his 52nd mass Baptism yesterday in Holy Trinity Cathedral in the capital city of Tbilisi, adding another 708 Godchildren, reports Georgia Online.

The celebration began in the second half of the day, after the morning Liturgy. His Holiness arrived to the cathedral around 8:00 PM to bless his new Godchildren, who all received official certificates and Baptismal crosses.

Holy Metropolis of Good Hope welcome the Alexandrian Primate

On the 20th January 2018, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, arrived at the Cape of Good Hope (Cape Town) in South Africa, where the Holy Metropolis of Good Hope is majestically celebrating the 50th anniversary since its establishment by Patriarchal and Synodal Tome in 1968.

Establishment of the first Orthodox monastery in South America

On 19th January 2018, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, arrived in South Africa, to participate in the celebrations of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of the Holy Metropolis of Good Hope (1968-2018) and then to go on a great missionary journey to Namibia and Kenya.
