Children saved from abortion baptized in Vladivostok

The holy Sacrament of Baptism was recently celebrated in Vladivostok for several children whose lives had been saved from abortion, reports the site of the Vladivostok Diocese.

The holy rite was celebrated by Fr. Vadim Rodin in the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, a memorial for departed sailors, for three children who were mercifully saved from the horror of abortion thanks to the efforts of the Cradle Center for the Protection of Motherhood which works with women in crisis pregnancies, as well as the efforts of psychologists working at various women’s clinics.

A commemoration ceremony took place at the Jewish Museum and the Center of Tolerance in Moscow, devoted to the International Day of Commemoration in Memory of the Victims of the Holocaust and the complete lifting of the siege of Leningrad.

Greek Orthodox Church established in Abu Dhabi

The Saint Elias Greek Orthodox Cathedral was inaugurated in Abu Dhabi on Saturday by the Minister of Tolerance, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, and in the presence of Patriarch John X Yazigi, Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, The National reports.

January 26, 2018, the commemoration day of St. Jacob the Bishop of Nisibis, the Divine Liturgy was celebrated at the church of the Russian Orthodox Church’s Damascus representation. It was presided over by Hegumen Arseniy (Sokolov), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Great Antioch and All the East.

It is announced that the historic Holy Monastery of St. John the Baptist in the Bethabara area, east of Jericho, on the west bank of the river Jordan will be reopened as an Orthodox Shrine of the Jerusalem Patriarchate from next Monday January 16/29, 2018.
