Pan-Orthodox Liturgical Service in the church of Christ the Saviour in Moscow

On the feast day of Saint Olga Equal-to-the-Apostles, the great Princess of Russia, primates and bishops of local Orthodox Churches celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the church of Christ the Saviour in Moscow

On the occasion of the 1025^th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus, His Beatitude Patriarch Theodoros of Alexandria and All Africa, His Grace Patriarch Theophilos III of the Holy City of Jerusalem and All Palestine, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, His Beatitude Catholicos-Patriarch Illya II of All Georgia, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej, His Holiness Bulgarian Patriarch Neofit, His Beatitude Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus, His Beatitude Metropolitan Sava of Warsaw and All Poland and His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon of All America and Canada celebrated the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy.

Primate of the Orthodox Church in America arrives in Moscow

On 20 July 2013, His Beatitude Tikhon, Archbishop of Washington and Metropolitan of All America and Canada, arrived in Moscow to attend celebration of the 1025^th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus.

Meeting the Primate of the Orthodox Church in America at Domodedovo airport were Metropolitan Pavel of Ryazan and Mikhailov; Archbishop Arseniy of Istra, the first vicar of His Holiness the Patriarch for Moscow; Bishop Kliment of Krasnoslobodsk and Temnikov; archimandrite Alexander (Pihach), representative of the Orthodox Church in America to the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia; archpriest Nikolai Balashov, deputy chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s Department for External Church Relations (DECR); archpriest Igor Yakimchuk, DECR secretary for inter-Orthodox relations; and archpriest Georgy Roschin, representative of the World Russian People’s Council to the UN and a cleric of St. Nicholas Cathedral in New York.

Patriarch Kirill meets with Patriarch Theophilos of Jerusalem

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia met with His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, who has brought a delegation of the Orthodox Church of Jerusalem to the celebrations marking the 10th anniversary of the Baptism of Russia. They met at the patriarchal and synodal residence in the St. Daniel Monastery in Moscow.

Georgian Patriarch Iliya II in Moscow

His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia met with His Holiness and Beatitude Iliya II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, who leads a delegation of the Georgian Orthodox Church to the celebrations marking the 1025th anniversary of the Baptism of Russia.

Patriarch Irinej serves at the Representation of the Serbian Orthodox Church

On Tuesday, 23 July 2013, on the feast of the Placing of the Precious Robe of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Moscow and to a prayerful remembrance of venerable Anthony of Pechersk, His Holiness Irinej served the Divine Liturgy at the Representation of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Moscow.

Concelebrating along with the members of the Serbian church delegation there was also dean of the Novospasky stavropegic monastery in Moscow Bishop Sava of Voskresensk. Ambassador of Serbia Slavenko Terzic and president of the International Fund of Unity of Orthodox Peoples V.A. Alekseyev prayerfully participated in the Liturgy. The diplomatic choir of the Embassy of Serbia in the Russian Federation sang responses.

President of the State Duma of the Russian Federation S.E. Narishkin meets with Patriarch Irinej

President of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation S.E. Narishkin met with His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej in Moscow yesterday, on 23 July 2013.

During the talks there were also present: dean of the Representation of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Moscow Bishop Antonije of Moravica, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Russian Federation Mr. Slavenko Terzic, deputy director of the Department of the External Church Relations protopresbyter Nikolai Balashov, dean of the Representation of the Moscow Patriarchate in Belgrade protopresbyter Vitaliy Tarasyev, chairmain of the Committee on the issues of the social associations and religious organizations of the State Duma of the Russian Federation J.E. Nilov and other high personalities.
