The Venerable Sash of the Mother of God - from Vatoped to Russia

The delegation of the Foundation of Saint Andrew  The First-Called, with the blessing of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, brought on October 20, 2011 in the Russian Federation, The Venerable Sash of the Most Holy Lady, which has been kept for centuries in the monastery Vatopedi at Mount Athos. Many believers could worship the relics, that will remain in Russia until November 23. On that occasion the Sash along with the prayer could be worshipped by believers from many Russian cities - from St. Petersburg, where was the first place where the shrine was brought, through Yekaterinburg, Vladivostok, Krasnoyarsk, Niznhny Novgorod, Diviyev, Sharansk, Samara, Rostov and Kalingrad until Moscow.

On 18 October 2011, a conference on the participation of state, public, and religious organizations in prevention of HIV/AIDS and drug addiction opened at the conference hall of “Danilovskiy” hotel complex.

On Thursday, September 30th / October 13th 2011, His Eminence Minister of Greece Mr. Stavros Lambrinidis being on a visit to the state of Jordan after his visit to Egypt and on his way to Lebanon met with His Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos at Intercontinental Hotel in Amman.

During this visit the Minister of Foreign Affairs was escorted by a seven-member delegation from the Greek Ministry of National Education and Religious Affairs, a member of whom was Mr. Themistoklis Dimidis who had served as the Greek Consul General in Jerusalem years ago, Representatives of the General Council of Foreign Affairs , economic operators and journalists.

On Tuesday, September 28th /October 11th 2011, the memory of our Father Saint Isaac the Syrian was solemnly celebrated at the Emirate of Qatar. As known, this region is the place of ascesis of this great luminary of the Church Saint Isaac the Syrian.  For the first time a vigil was conducted at the underground part of the constructed Holy Church to the honor of the great teacher of mystical life.

Pilgrims from The Orthodox Church of Finland visit The Jerusalem Patriarchate

On Tuesday,  September 28th / October 11th 2011, the Bishop of Gioencu Arsenios of the Orthodox Church of Finland together with a small escort visited the Patriarchate and was accepted by His Holy Beatitude our Father and Patriarch of Jerusalem Theophilos.

In this meeting, His Beatitude welcomed them at the Zion Church, mother of Churches where the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles during the day of Pentecoste. From this Church originated all the established Orthodox Churches worldwide by the work of the Apostles the Disciples of Christ. Historical records of the Incarnation of the Word of God, His Act of Salvation and the Acts of His Disciples are the Holy and Sacred Pilgrimages of the Holy Land, which the Patriarchate of Jerusalem was called to protect and keep through the centuries.
