Inter-Orthodox participation in U.N. Event on Homelessness

On February 14, 2020, the Department of Inter-Orthodox, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America participated in the 58th Session of the Commission for Social Development at the United Nations. The Department held a side event on the Housing First Approach as part of the Archdiocese’s initiatives on homelessness. The event, titled, “Building a Housing First Approach and Implementing Inclusive Best Practices,” was co-sponsored by the Permanent Mission of Finland to the United Nations and UNANIMA International.

Orthodox TV station to launch soon in Moldova

A new Orthodox TV station, NIKA TV, will soon be launched in Moldova for the edification of the faithful and general public. More than 95% of Moldovans identify as Orthodox Christians.

The Metropolis of Chișinău and All Moldova of the Russian Orthodox Church announced on Monday that “a local Orthodox Christian TV station will soon start its activity on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.”

Two young men have been arrested and charged with vandalism at the Saint Gregory Palamas Holy Metropolitan Church in Thessaloniki.

His Grace Bishop of the Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand Siluan was on his canonic visit to the parishes of Perth in the period from 6th till 11th February 2020.

His Grace the Bishop, accompanied by protodeacon Miodrag Tomic, was warmly welcomed by clergy of the city of Perth with whom he was discussing about the life of the Serbian Orthodox Church of Western Australia.
