Patriarch Irinej awarded with "Captain Misa Anastastijevic" award
His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch was awarded on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 in a Great hall of Matica Srpska in Novi Sad the Captain Misa Anastasijevic award.
In a group of 24 laureates besides His Holiness, the award in a form of a statuette of Captain Misa Anastasijevic, the work of academic sculptor Ljubisa Mancic of Belgrade, was given to Ambassador of Japan in Serbia His Excellency Toshio Tsunozaki, vicepresident of the Government of the Republic of Serbia Mrs Verica Kalanovic, Provincial Secretary for agriculture Mr István Pasztor and General Director of the Petroleum Industry of Serbia Mr. Kyril Kravchenko.
This ceremony was attended by Bishop Irinej of Novi Sad and Backa, Bishop Porfirije of Jegar, as well as many prominent figures and public activists.
The same evening, Patriarch Irinej visited Novi Sad's Cathedral church and greeted the gathered faithful people with a sermon.
On the occasion of the visit of His Holiness to our city, in Bishop's Palace in Novi Sad the reception was held.
