Patron Saint-Day of the Serbian Diocese of Middle-Europe
The Diocese of Middle Europe, with its head Bishop Sergije and along with its priesthood, monks and lots of believers, celebrated, for the first time, its Patron Saint-Day (slava) – Saint Nikolaj of Zica and Ohrid.
His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa held a sermon on this Serbian saint and paptron saint of the Diocese, and officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of Their Graces Bishops Hrizostom of Zvornik-Tuzla, Atanasije of Bihac-Petrovac, David of Krusevac, Andrej of Austria-Switzerland, Jeronim of Jegar and the host Bishop Sergije, as well as lots of priests and monks from the Fatherland and the Diocese of Middle Europe.
The choir of the School for church chanting “Saint John of Damascus” from Novi Sad along with the parish choir “Saint Basil of Ostrog” sang responses, and in this way enhanced the prayerful celebration. Next to many believers, who came from many parts of Germany explicitly for this occasion, there were present Mayor of Frankfurt Mr. Feldmann, representative of Sparkasse Mr. Lemp, Consuls Mrs Aleksandra Djordjevic, Mr. Branko Radovanovic, Mr. Zivorad Petrovic, as well as representatives of a few local Orthodox sister Churches.
