On Saturday, September 29, 2018, the Diocese of Temisoara celebrated its patron Saint Ioseph of Timisoara.

The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Cathedral of the Lord's Ascension in Timisoara was celebrated by His Grace Bishop Lukian of Budim and administrator of Temisoara, with concelebration of the clergy and hieromonks of the dioceses of Timisoara and Budim. Several church choirs from the Diocese of Timisoara contributed to the solemnity of the event. After the Holy Liturgy, all of them with the clergy and monastics, together with Bishop Lukian made a procession along the city streets.

Special guests of this year's diocesan celebration were the Romanian Minister of Religion Viktor Opashi and the director of the Office for Cooperation with Churches and Religious Communities of the Republic of Serbia Dr. Mileta Radojevic.

At the end of the Holy Liturgy, His Grace Bishop Lukijan handed in the order of the Diocese of Temisoara to Minister of Religion Victoria Opashi, acknowledging special merits and unselfish aid and dedication for the Serbian Church in Romania, i.e. the Diocese of Temisaora. Thanking to Bishop Lukian, Minister Viktor Opashi pointed out the inextricable friendship of the two peoples of the same confession and referred to the common past Church history, specifically to the period before the independence of the Romanian Church from the Karlovci Metropolis as the basis for the future friendship between the two peoples and the two Churches.

Dr. Mile Radojevic congratulated the Diocesan patron-saint day and wished to Bishop Lukian, his clergy, monks and the faithful people abundant divine blessings. Radojevic also congratulated  Minister Victor Opashi the order, and as a sign of fraternal love and friendship, gave him an icon of the Most Holy Theotokos.
