September – The Month of Great Results

Thanks to our numerous partners, individual and corporate donors, the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation began and carried out reconstruction projects, with a total value of 1.2 million USD, less than three months after the catastrophic floods in May. These projects enabled normal living, educational and working conditions for more than 4,500 people in flooded areas.

Two kindergartens and four schools which the Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation reconstructed were re-opened on September 1st.

On September 3rd, we celebrated the opening of the reconstructed kindergarten in Ub together with our partner, Eurobank. On September 16th we opened the reconstructed Nevena kindergarten in Obrenovac thanks to our partnership with the P&G Company.
Reconstruction work on classrooms of elementary schools in Bašin, Jelav and Medoševac has been completed and pupils were able to start school on time.
Thanks to the support of P&G, work is currently being done on the reconstruction of the First School in Obrenovac and will be completed by mid-October.

Starting in mid-September, the Foundation has been rebuilding the Center for housing and day care for children with disabilities in Obrenovac, thanks to the support of P&G.
Thanks to our donors; P&G, Wiener Stadtische Insurance, the Norwegian Embassy in Belgrade, UniCredit bank and the numerous individual donors, we currently support reconstruction projects for almost 70 family houses damaged in floods.

Thanks to the support of Wiener Stadtische Insurance, we have signed contracts with 7 families in Obrenovac which will provide construction material for rebuilding their houses. Delivery of construction material for rebuilding 12 houses in Paraćin and 17 in Svilajnac. We reconstructed three houses for single mothers in Bijeljina and Mionica.
The Ana and Vlade Divac Foundation is one of the partner organizations in the German Organization ASB for executing the “Providing support for the reconstruction of flooded households and local economy in Serbia” project that is financed by the European Union. Within the scope of this project, financial aid will be provided through the Foundation for at least 70 small enterprises in the Valjevo, Osečina, Mali Zvornik and Ljubovija municipalities.

During September, teams from the Foundation visited over 100 enterprises and farmers in these municipalities, aiming to select the most vulnerable families who have been left without any sources of income due to the floods.
