Patriarch Porfirije: Let's walk the path of the publican, the path of calmness, not the path of pride, the path of the pharisee

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch officiated the Liturgy in the church of Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God in Belgrade, on 13 February 2022, the Sunday of the Publican and the Pharisee (phоto gallery).

The Patriarch was concelebrated by protopresbyter-staurophors Jovica Vicentijevic, Slobodan Ceketic and Jovan Milanovic, presbyters Gavrilo Rajic, Nenad Prodic and Mihailo Rapajic, as well as deacons Dragan Rodic, Radomir Vrucinic, Nemanja Kalem and Pavle Matulic.

Patriarch Porfirije presented annual scholarships to final year students of the founding faculties of the University of Belgrade

On February 12, 2022, on the feast of the Holy Three Hierarchs, at a ceremony in the crypt of Saint Sava Cathedral Church, His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch,  presented scholarships to final year students of the Faculty of Medicine, Electrical Engineering, Law, Philosophy, and Theology, selected in a contest. 

In that sort of evangelical love and noble endeavor, the Serbian Business Association and Humanitarian Fund "Privrednik," also participates. Founded in 1897, it also provides scholarships to gifted pupils and students, while His Holiness Porfirije has been its chairman and benefactor for an entire decade.

Patriarch Porfirije officiated the services on the occasion of the feast of the Holy Three Hierarchs

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the All-Night Vigil in the crypt of the Saint Sava Memorial Cathedral, on the Eve of the feast of the Holy Three Hierarchs, 11 February 2022. 

In the continuation of the prayerful gathering, at midnight, His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch officiated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy with the concelebration of Their Graces Bishops Stefan of Remesiana, Jerotej of Toplica and Justin of Hvosno (phоto gallery).

His Holliness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, received Sir Stuart Peach, the British Prime Minister's Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, in the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade, on 9 February 2022.  

In a cordial, friendly and open conversation, His Holiness Patriarch reminded that the all-round development of Serbian-British relations especially strengthens the cordial relationship that traditionally exists between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Anglican Church.

Patriarch Porfirije: Saint Sava is the most beautiful child in our nation

-Saint Sava is the most beautiful child in our nation and someone to whom we pray and want to look up to. You will always come here and come to your house. This is your house; this temple was built because of you, Serbian Patriarch Porfirije said in an enlightening address to the children gathered in the Saint Sava Memorial Cathedral Church in the Vracar District.

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, decided to host a gathering in honour of God and in honour of Saint Sava, the first Serbian Archbishop, and the enlightener, under the arches of the Saint Sava Cathedral Church in Vracar, Belgrade, on 5 February 2022. Guided by paternal love, the Patriarch distributed five thousand Saint Sava‘s gifts to lower grade pupils of Belgrade's elementary schools.

Newly appointed ambassadors visit the Serbian Patriarch

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch received the newly appointed ambassadors of the Republic of Serbia Milan Milosevic to Belarus, Aleksandar Tasic to the Kingdom of Belgium, Rada Stefanovic to Australia and Miroslav Sestovic to Egypt, at the Patriarchal Palace in Belgrade, on February 3, 2022.

On the eve of their inauguration, His Holiness pointed out to these diplomats that the Serbian Orthodox Church, since its founder Saint Sava, has nurtured a tradition of open and sincere interfaith dialogue, so that they have support in all forms of deepening cooperation between states, peoples, churches and religious communities. The audience was attended by the His Grace Bishop Sava of Marca, Head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch.
