Serbian Patriarch Porfirije received the delegation of the Community of Sant' Egidio

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, received His Eminence Archbishop Vicenzo Paglia, President of the Community of Sant' Egidio in the Patriarchate Palace in Belgrade, on 14 December 2021.

During the friendly meeting, they discussed about the continuation of the long-term cooperation between the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Community of Sant' Egidio The audience was attended by His Grace Bishop Sava od Marca, Head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarchate; Mr. Alberto Quattrucci, Secretary of the Community of Sant' Egidio, as well as protopresbyter-staurophor Rasko Radovic, parish priest in Trieste.

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, served the newly departed Great schema mother Mihaila (Vlacic) in the monastery of the Presentation of the Most Holy Mother of God in Belgrade on 12 December 2021.

The newly departed mother Mihaila was born on 3 December 1934 in the vicinity of Sarajevo, in Tvrdici.  She came to Lazarevo near Zrenjanin with her family during the colonization. She began her novice life as a thirteen-year-old girl in 1948 in the monastery of  Saint Melania near Zrenjanin.  She has lived in the monastery of the Presentation of the Most Holy Mother of God on Senjak in constant prayer and struggle since 1958.

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch officiated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy with the concelebration of Their Graces Bishops Stefan of Remesiana and Jerotej of Toplica in the Cathedral church of Saint Sava in the Vracar, on 5 December 2021.  (photo gallery).

After the Holy Liturgy, Patriarch Porfirije greeted the members of the Association of Young Scouts and students of the Vuk Karadzic Elementary School who attended the service. The children were very happy with the Patriarch's words that he, as a child, was a young scout, too and that he loved campfires the most, but also that he remembers learning to tie knots. Finally, after the photo shoot, the children invited Patriarch Porfirije to visit their camps with the desire to show him their skills.

Bishop Sava of Marca in Zagreb: Faith in Christ is the power that saves and revives

His Grace Bishop Sava of Marca, Vicar of the Serbian Patriarch, officiated the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy in Zagreb, on 5 December 2021  (phоto gallery ).

He was concelebrated by archimandrites Sevastijan (Radovanovic), abbot of the Krka monastery, and Nektarije (Samardzic) with the clergy of the Cathedral church. The worship service was enhanced by the singing of a choir conducted by Ivana Srbljan. The Bishop spoke after reading a passage from the Gospel about the resurrection of Jairus' daughter and the healing of the hemorrhaging woman (Luke 8, 41-56):

Name day of Serbian Patriarch Porfirije celebrated

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, served the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy in the Patriarchate's side chapel  of Saint Simeon the Miracle-worker on 2 December 2021, on the feast day of  Saint Porphyrios of Kafsokalivia.

In a prayerful presence of Their Graces Bishops Jerotej of Toplica and Justin of Hvosno, His Holiness was concelebrated by protosynchellos Danilo, Director of the Administrative Office of the Patriarchate; protosynchellos Nektarije, Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of Bishops; Archimandrite Nektarije from the Diocese of Britain-Scandinavia, presbyter Srboljub Ubiparipovic and deacons Dragan Radic, Vladimir Radovanovic and Vladan Tatalovic.

Look, what is better, or beautiful, than for the brothers to live together

His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch, attended on 27 November 2021, the Sunday's festal vesper service on the Eve of the beginning of the Nativity Fast in the chapel of Holy Apostle and Evangelist John the Theologian at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology in Belgrade.

The service was attended by professors and students of the Seminary of Saint Sava together with professors and students of the Faculty of Theology.  A carnival dinner followed, during which the Rector of the Seminary, Deacon Radomir Vrućinić, greeted all present, wishing them a happy and blessed beginning of Nativity Lent, while, on behalf of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology, presbyter  Srboljub Ubiparipović, Ph.D., Vice Dean for Teaching, greeted the audience. -We are a two-way school and with this event, we show conciliarity in accordance with the words of forefather David: Look, what is better or beautiful when brothers live together. Then, His Holiness Porfirije, the Serbian Patriarch addressed all those gathered, who emphasized:
