Eastern Diocesan Federation CSS celebrates its Patronal Feast

On the feast of Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God and Ever Virgin Mary, the clergy of the Cleveland and Pittsburgh Deaneries, members of the Eastern Diocesan Federation of the Circles of Serbian Sisters (CSS) and faithful came together with His Grace, our Father and Bishop Irinej to celebrate the Holy Hierarchical Liturgy and the Patronal Feast – Slavaof the Eastern Diocesan Federation CSS, and the local parish CSS at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church on Raccoon Rd in Austintown, Ohio.

Proclamation of the Bishop-elect Dimitrije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and the Littoral

After the election of Archimandrite Dimitrije in May 2018, for a new Bishop of Zahumlje, Herzegovina and the Littoral, the Church of God celebrated the rite of his proclamation on the Eve if the Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost.

American and Serbian Day in the North Port of Sarasota County of Florida

With the blessing of the His Grace the Right Reverend Irinej, Bishop of Eastern America, on September 15, we celebrated the 100th anniversary of Serbia and the United States in World War I.

Thanks to the city of North Port and the representatives of the government Jill Luke, Commissioner, and Linda Yates, Vice-Mayor of North Port, FL, that supported us at the celebration on the historic occasion of commemorating the centennial of President Woodrow Wilson’s "Proclamation" of the Day of Prayer for Serbia and The Day the Serbian Flag flew at the White House, on July 28, 1918 and the centenary of the breakthrough of the Thessaloniki Front, on September 15, 1918, which was the decisive maneuver for the collapse of the Central Powers in the World War I. The visual-literary exhibition “Тамо далеко: 1918-2018” / “Over There, So Far Away” which was set up in Washington on the celebration of the Day of Prayer for Serbia, from 25 to 29 July 2018, was presented to the participants of this magnificent gathering in the Church of St. Sava in North Port.

His Grace Bishop Grigorije of Frankfurt and All Germany enthroned

His Grace Bishop Grigorije of Frankfurt and All Germany was enthroned in the church of Saint Sava in Dusseldorf on 16 September 2018.

His Grace Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac, the first Diocesan Bishop of that Serbian Orthodox Diocese, introduced Bishop Grigorije into the throne of Bishops of Frankfurt and All Germany. The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was celebrated by fifteen bishops and hundreds of clergymen. Bishop Grigorije said in his enthronement speach that he was aware of the challenge that was facing him, and nevertheless, he pointed out his archpastoral duty to make the hosts closer to the rich Serbian culture and tradition.

Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren protested against the ban imposed on Arnaud Gouillon

Arnaud Gouillon, the president of the humanitarian association "Solidarité Kosovo", which helps the Serbian Orthodox population in this region, gave the following details on his arrest:

"On Monday morning, September 10, while I was going to Kosovo to help in a humanitarian project, Albanian police arrested me at a checkpoint. They prevented me from continuing on my journey. Three hours after having detained me in their premises, they notified me that I was banned and could stay on the territory of Kosovo. No information was communicated to me on the legal basis, the criteria, and the process that led to this decision. In the absence of any clarification, this measure appears to me to be totally abusive, arbitrary and unjustified".

Patron’s feat- day of Alexander Nevsky Church

The Feast day of the Translation of the relics of Alexander Nevsky was solemnly celebrated with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church dedicated to this great Russian saint on 12 September 2018 in Belgrade.

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the Holy Liturgy with the concelebration of the local clergy.
