Celebration of the Greek Independence Day in Belgrade

On the occasion of the National holiday of the Liberation Day from the Turkish captivity and memory of liberation uprisings from 1821, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch,officieted the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with Doxology at the Patriarchal church of Saint Simeon the Myrrh-Gusher in Belgrade оn 25th March 2018.

On this occasion His Holiness Irinej ordained hierodeacon Amvrosije (Vesic), Doctor of the National Technical University and PhD student of the course Liturgics at the Faculty of Theology in Athens, as hieromonk.

Pan-Orthodox Lenten Vespers at St. Demetrius

With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Irinej, St. Demetrius Serbian Orthodox Church in Fairlawn, Ohio, hosted Pan-Orthodox Lenten Vespers on the 4th Sunday of Great Lent. 

Newly-installed priest Fr. Dragan Goronjic, Dean of the Cleveland Deanery, invited not only brethren from within the Cleveland Deanery to concelebrate, but also Orthodox clergy from throughout the greater-Akron community.

Patriarch Irinej serves in Bezanijska Kosa

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts in the church of Saint Basil of Ostrog in Bezanijska Kosa on 23 March 2018.

The Patriarch was concelebrated by the local priests.

Children learn better through play and look forward to classes, confirms the church school at the church of the St Apostles Peter and Paul. In order to get to know our educational staff better, I visited this congregation on February 2, 2018.

Meeting of the Episcopal Council held in Banja Luka

On 20 March 2018 a meeting of  the Episcopal Council was held at the Bishop’s Palace in Banja Luka.

His Eminence Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosna summoned the meeting and presided over it as well. Participating hierarchs were: Their Graces Bishops Jefrem of Banjaluka, Grigorije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina and Sergej of Bihac-Petrovac. The Episcopal Council dealt with current issues of our Church, concerning especially the dioceses in the Republic of Srpska and BiH Federation.
