The Serbian Patriarch received by the President of Serbia

Belgrade, 28 October 2017 - The President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Aleksandar Vucic met with His Holiness Irinej with whom he talked about accelerating the completion of works on the construction of the Saint Sava Cathedral in Belgrade.

President Vucic and Patriarch Irinej agreed that the works on the construction should be completed until 2019, so that the marking of the 800^th anniversary of the establishment of the first Serbian Archbishopric would be held in the new Cathedral.

The Association “Friends of Mount Athos” in an audience with the Serbian Patriarch

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch received a delegation of the humanitarian Association “Friends of Mount Athos”, headed by His Eminence Metropolitan Kallistos (Ware) of Diocleia at the Serbian Patriarchate on 23 October 2017.

Metropolitan Kallistos expressed his gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the cordial and brotherly reception during which they talked about projects and donations of this humanitarian association directed to the Chilandar Monastery.

Minister Zoran Djordjevic received by the Serbian Patriarch

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, received Mr. Zoran Djordjevic, Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy in the Government of Serbia at the Serbian Patriarchate on 23 October 2017.

The distinguished minister expressed his gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the cordial meeting during which they discussed about the problems that face the marginalized people in the Republic of Serbia and the ways how to solve them.

The Serbian Patriarch receives a delegation from University Ecclesiastical Academy from Thessaloniki

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, received protopresbyter Rev. Gregory Stamkopoulos and Mr. Gregory Liantas, professors at University Ecclesiastical Academy of Thessaloniki.

The distinguished professors expressed their gratitude to the Head of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the whole-hearted audience during which they talked about possibilities that students study in this educational institution.

SebFest in Orlando

This past weekend, St. Petka Orthodox church in Orlando hosted the 12th annual SerbFest. This, now traditional, festival brought over 5,000 people to our church grounds. All of the proceeds made will go toward the construction of our new church. The church parishioners volunteered their time by cooking, baking, selling, cleaning, setting up, etc. all in hopes of raising money to profit the church. Their work helped create three unforgettable days.

Professor Kyriaki FitzGerald Speaks at Bose Conference in Italy

Dr. Kyriaki Karidoyanes FitzGerald, Adjunct Professor of Theology at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology and Co-founder and Executive Director of Saint Catherine’s Vision (SCV), offered the key note presentation at the Consultation on “Ecumenical Perspectives to the Role of Women in the Churches.” This was held at the Monastery of Bose in Mangano, Italy on October 3 to 7, 2017. She spoke on “Challenges and Opportunities of the Role of Women in the Church from a Theological Perspective.”
