Great celebrations in the church of St. Nicholas in Rijeka

On the feast-day of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God, a jubilee was marked in the church of Saint Nicholas of Myra in Rijeka on the occasionof the 300-anniversary since obtaining benefits of practicing religion, which Orthodox citizens of the city of Rijeka received in 1717 from Roman Emperor Charles VI.

The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, His Grace Bishop Jovan of Slavonia, Bishop Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac and the Diocesan Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac. Among concelebrants there were abbot Heruvim (Diocese of Osijek-Polje) and other local priests.

Patriarch serves in Saint Basil of Ostrog church

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch serves the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of Saint Basil of Ostrog on Bezanijska Kosa on 15 October 2017.

Patron Saint-day of the church of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God in Belgrade

On the occasion of the church slava, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God in Belgrade on 14 October 2017.

The Patriarch was concelebrated by local priests. The triumphant Liturgy was attended by representatives of the Roman Catholic Church of Saint Antun, Vicar of the convent father Leopold and fra Ilija – parish priest and a dean as wellas by representatives of the Municipality of Zvezdara – president Mr. Milos Ignjatovic and Secretary of the Municipality Assembly Mr. Slavko Babic.

Greek Ambassador received by the Patriarch of Serbia

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received His Excellency Elias Eliades, Ambassador of the Republic of Greece to Belgrade, in the Serbian Patriarchate on 11 October 2017.

His Excellency the Ambassador expressed gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for the warm reception, during which they discussed the common challenges that the brotherly Serbian and Greek peoples have been facing. His Holiness the Patriarch thanked the distinguished guest for this visit and wished him every Divine blessing in his ministry in Serbia.

Canadian parliamentarians and representatives of Christian NGOs from Canada visited the Serbian Patriarchate

With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, the editor-in-chief of the Information Service of the Serbian Orthodox Church protodeacon Radomir Rakic and the head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch deacon Aleksandar Prascevic, PhD, welcomed Mr. Harold Albrecht and Mrs. Cathy Wegnatal, Canadian members of the Parliament, accompanied by associates and chairmen of the Christian non-government organizations from Canada.

Antiochian Metropolitans received in audience by the Serbian Patriarch

His Holiness Patriarch of the Serbian Orthodox Church Irinej received Their Eminences Metropolitans of the ancient Antiochian Patriarchate Basil (Mansura) of Arkad, Savva (Ispera) of Huran and Isak (Barakata) of Germany and Central Europe, accompanied by Archpriest Prokopy. The audience took place in the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on October 10, 2017.

Their Eminences Metropolitans expressed deep gratitude to the Primate of the Serbian Orthodox Church for a fraternal reception during which they indicated that the end of the war conflicts in which many Christians and Muslims were killed in the Arab Republic of Syria is approaching.
