Enthronement of Bishop Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla

Newly elected Bishop Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla was enthroned at the Cathedral church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in Bijeljina on 17 September 2017. (phоto gallery).

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje Jovan, Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana and Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosnia and Bishops: Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla, Vasilije of Srem, Nikanor of Banat, Irinej of Backa, Dositej of Britain and Scandinavia, Justin of Zica, Pahomije of Vranje, Jovan of Sumadija, Atanasije of Milesheva, Joakim of Polog-Kumanovo, Marko of Bregalnica, Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, David of Krusevac, Jovan of Slavonia, Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac, Arsenije of Nis and retired Georgije of Canada.

The Patriarch of Alexandria to pay a visit to the Serbian Orthodox Church

His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, Theodoros II, is going to pay an official (irenic) visit to His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia Irinej and the Serbian Orthodox Church from September 22 to 29, 2017.

The inhabitants of Belgrade will have an opportunity to greet His Beatitude Patriarch Theodoros and his entourage immediately upon his arrival on Friday, September 22, 2017, when, after a solemn welcome, in honor of the distinguished guest a doxology will be served in the Cathedral of the Holy Archangel Michael in Belgrade at 9:30 am.

The program of the visit envisages that the high dignitaries from the Alexandrian Church take part in the vigil service, which will be celebrated in the Belgrade Cathedral on Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 5 pm.

Patron Saint-day of Saint Alexander Nevsky church in Belgrade

The feast day of the Transfer of the Relics of Saint Alexander Nevsky was solemnly celebrated with the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church dedicated to this great Russian saint in Belgrade.

With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Bishop Antonije of Moravica, Vicar of Serbian Patriarch and head of the Representation of the Serbian Church in Moscow, celebrated the Holy Liturgy. The Bishop was concelebrated by the clergy of Archbishopric of Belgrade-Karlovac.

Days of Holy Martyrs of Jasenovac

The celebration of Holy New Martyrs of Jasenovac under auspices of  the Diocese of Pakrac-Slavonia commenced on 3 September 2017 with a Liturgy at the monastery church of the Nativity of Saint John the Forerunner in Jasenovac, and will end on 13 September, the day when the Serbian Church marks their memory.

With the blessing of His Grace Bishop Jovan of Pakrac-Slavonia, the central event of celebration began on 8 September 2017 with the regular annual symposium "New Martyrs: Polyperspective III", which was organized by the Jasenovac Committee of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Museum of Genocide Victims from Belgrade. With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, the second part of the symposium was held  in the premises of the Serbian Orthodox High School "Kantakuzina Katarina Brankovic" in Zagreb this year as well.

Patron saint-day of the church of Synaxis of the Serbian saints on Karaburma

On the occasion of the church slava, His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the church of Synaxis of Serbian Saints on Karaburma on 10 September 2017.

The Patriarch was concelebrated by protopresbyter-staurophors Dragan Stanisic, Ratko Aksentic, Zivadin Protic and Spasoje Zivanovic, Arhimandrite Filimon - abbot of the Kaona Monastery, presbyter Dejan Antic, as well as protodeacon Stevan Rapajic and deacons Jovo Kalinic, Aleksandar Prascevic and Nemanja Ristic.

Bishop Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac enthroned

On the feast-day of the Synaxis of All Serbian Saints Bishop Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac was enthroned in the Cathedral church of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul  (photo gallery).

His Eminence Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana officiated the solemn Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of Their Graces Bishops: Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac, Pahomije of Vranje, Jovan of Sumadija, Fotije of Dalmatia and elected of Zvornik and Tuzla; Atanasije of Milesheva, Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic, Marko of Bregalnica, Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, Ilarion of Timok, retired Bishops Konstantin of Middle Europe and Georgije of Canada. The solemn rite of the enthronement was attended by Their Graces Bishops: Jefrem of Banja Luka, Vasilije of Srem, Mitrophan of Canada, retired Bishop Vasilije of Zvornik-Tuzla and Archimandrite Nikodim, elected Bishop of Dalmatia.
