Liturgy in Saint Sava monastery in Libertyville
19. July 2017 - 10:38In the presence of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, His Grace Bishop Longin of New Gracanica-Midwest America celbrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Saint Sava monastery in Libertyville on 18 July 2017.
By the relics of the new-shown Saint Mardarije, Bishop Longin was concelebrated by protosyncellos Seraphim, abbot of the monastery; hieromonks Sergije and Nektarije from New Gracanica and Libertyville, as well as by protodeacon Slobodan Vujasinovic from the Diocese of Srem. Besides Serbian Patriarch, the service was attended by Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral. Students of the Faculty of Orthodox Theology of Saint Sava from Libertyville sang responses. During the Holy Liturgy Bishop Longin delivered a sermon.
Saint Peter's day solemnly celebrated in Wodonga
19. July 2017 - 9:19Observing a tradition, the congregation of Wodonga and Albury, Australia, always celebrate their church Patron’s Saint-day with their Bishop. On Saturday, 15 July 2017, His Grace Bishop Siluan of the Metropolitanate of Australia and New Zealand celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy at the church of Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Wodonga. He was concelebrated by archimandrite Petar Radulovic, protopresbyter-staurophor Momcilo Vuksa, protopresbyter Petar Bozic, protpresbyter Milic Rakic, protodeacon Petar Mrakic and deacon Nenad Vujasinovic.
Serbian Patriarch officiated in the Russian Holy Virgin Protection Cathedral in Chicago
18. July 2017 - 15:31His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia led the Divine Liturgy at the Diocesan Cathedral of the Protection of the Mother of God in Des Plaines, IL here on this day. His Holiness is presently in the United States having led the glorification of the St. Mardarije in Libertyville, IL on July 2/15 and 3/16. - Photo gallery

Serbian Church glorifies St. Mardarije of Libertyville

The festive celebration of the liturgical glorification of St. Mardarije of Libertyville was held this past weekend July 14-16 at various Serbian Orthodox churches and monasteries, culminating in the glorification Liturgy at St. Sava’s Monastery in Libertyville, where St. Mardarije’s incorrupt relics lie.
The celebrations were headed by His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia, who left Serbia on July 13, saying, “We joyously anticipate the upcoming celebration of the canonization of St. Mardarije of Libertyville, the first Serbian Orthodox bishop of America and Canada, and sharing in this great spiritual jubilee of our Church and spiritual children in America.”

His Royal Highness Prince Djordje Karadjordjevic and Miss Fallon Rayman were joined in holy matrimony at St. George’s Church in Oplenac on Saturday, 15 July 2017. This was followed by a reception at the White Palace. The wedding was officiated by His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija.
Moscow Patriarchate in the USA launches online Orthodox radio
17. July 2017 - 13:45The diocese of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA (Moscow Patriarchate) has launched a new online Orthodox radio station, according to the diocesan site.
The streaming station “Salvation” represents a new missionary outreach of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, featuring news of the Russian Orthodox Church, lives of the saints, Church feasts, liturgical music, homilies, lectures, and live discussions, among other materials. The station, unveiled with the blessing of His Grace Bishop John of Naro-Fominsk, administrator of the Moscow Patriarchate parishes in America, is intended as a missionary, catechetical, and educational tool for the faithful of the Russian Orthodox Church living in America and elsewhere.
