Hierarchical visit to North Canton

On Sunday, March 15th, His Grace Bishop Dr Mitrophan celebrated the Holy Hierarchical Divine Liturgy at St George Serbian Orthodox Church on the third week of Lent, dedicated to the Holy Cross. His Grace was welcomed by Rev Aleksa Pavichevich and altar servers at 9:45am for vesting and prayers. 


Bishop Peter of Cleveland visited New Marcha Monastery

On Sunday, March 15, 2015, the Third Sunday of Lent, the Sunday of the Veneration of the Holy Cross and feast day of St. Theodotus of Cyrenia and the Kolomna Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos, His Grace Bishop Peter of Cleveland (Russian Church Abroad) visited New Marcha Monastery. Welcoming Bishop Peter was His Grace Bishop Mitrophan of Eastern America. Refreshments were served at the monastery house after His Grace toured the monastery and venerated the monastery relics. Bishop Mitrophan presented Bishop Peter with an icon of Venerable Fr. Justin of Chelije and the book History of the Serbian Orthodox Church in America and Canada.

Minister of Defence visits Serbian Patriarch

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej received Mr. Bratislav Gasic, Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia, at the Serbian Patriarch on 13 March 2015.

Sunday of Orthodoxy in Canton, Ohio

On Sunday, March 1st, 2015, the Stark County Orthodox Clergy Brotherhood gathered at St George Serbian Orthodox Church in North Canton, Ohio to celebrate the Pan-Orthodox Sunday of Orthodoxy Vespers. Many faithful Christians, from a multitude of Orthodox churches, were in attendance despite the falling snow and adverse weather conditions.

Liturgical Gathering at the Military Academy in Belgrade

Head of the Department for Faiths, Colonel Dr. Sasa Milutinovic, attended the Liturgy at the Military Academy. Divine Liturgies are regularly in all the chapels located within military caserns.

The Second Sunday in Lent, on which the Orthodox Church celebrates Great Saint of Thessaloniki Gregory Palamas, was celebrated at the chapel of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos at the Military Academy in Belgrade, when the Holy Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great was officiated. Many cadets, non-commissioned officers and officers attended the holy service. Captain and presbyter Nemanja Petrovic served the Holy Liturgy with the concelebration of protodeacon Radomir Rakic, Editor-in-Chief of the Information Service of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

The Serbian Orthodox Church celebrates Sunday of Orthodoxy

His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej served the Liturgy of Saint Basil the Great in the side-chapel of Holy Martyrs of Belgrade Hermylus and Stratonicus at the Saint Sava Cathedral on Vracar, Belgrade.

The clergy of Saint Sava Cathedral concelebrated to the Patriarch, while the Singing Society “Mokranjac” sang responses. Lots of believers were present at the Liturgy.
