Meeting of President Vucic and Bishop Gerasim

The President of the Republic of Serbia Mr. Alenksandar Vucic received His Grace Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac,, accompanied by Archimandrite Naum (Milkovic),MA, at the building of the Presidency in Belgrade, on February 12, 2021.

In a conversation with Bishop Gerasim and Archimandrite Naum, President Vucic was informed in more detail with the consequences of the earthquake that hit the cities in the Diocese of Gornji Karlovac in December 2020 and disrupted the existence of the people living in those areas. 

Bishop Gerasim and President of Srpska visited the area affected by the earthquake

On February 10, 2021, His Grace Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac met with the President of the Republic of Srpska, Mrs. Zeljka Cvijanovic in Petrinja, a city that was destroyed in a devastating earthquake in December 2020.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Croatia, Mr. Aleksandar Vranjes, Head of the Republika Srpska Representation Office in Brussels, Mr. Mario Djuragic, advisors to the President of Srpska Mr. Slavko Mitrovic and Mr. Dusan Petrovic, Member of Croatian Parliament and President of SDSS prof. Dr. Milorad Pupovac, Member of Croatian Parliament Mrs. Dragana Jeckov, as well as Protopresbyter-Staurophor Slavisa Simakovic.

The President of Republika Srpska visited Jasenovac

The President of Republika Srpska, Mrs. Zeljka Cvijanovic, visited the Jasenovac Monastery and on that occasion talked with His Eminence the Bishop of Slavonia, Mr. John.

Accompanied by the host, Bishop Jovan, and in the presence of the Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Croatia, Mr. Aleksandar Vranjes, President of the Serbian National Council Mr. Milorad Pupovac and Member of the Croatian Parliament Dragana Jeckov, the President visited the winter church of the Holy New Martyrs of Jasenovac, the Cathedral of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, the site of the Serbian school in Jasenovac, during which she was acquainted in detail with the history of the school and the renovation project.

The feast day in Saint John Chrysostom Monastery in Bitola

In the presence of His Beatitude Kyr Jovan, Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje and His Grace Bishop Marko of Bregalnica, the Locum Tenens of Bitola, on the feast day of the Translation of the Relics of Saint John Chrysostom, His Grace Bishop David of Stobi and Locum Tenens of Struma, officiated the Holy Liturgy in Stauropegic monastery in Bitola.

250 years since the death of the Bishop of Gonji Karlovac Danilo Jaksic

 I know your works, your labor, your patience. And have labored for My name’s sake and have not become weary (Revelation 2:2-3).

February 9, 2021, marks the 250th anniversary of the death of Bishop Danilo (Jaksic) of blessed repose, a confessor of the Orthodox faith and a hard worker in the Vineyard of the Lord in the Diocese of Karlovac from 1751 to 1771.

Bishop Joanikije celebrated in Djurdjevi Stupovi

His Grace Bishop Joanikije of Budimlye-Niksic celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in Djurdjevi Stupovi Monastery on 9 February 2021, on the occasion of the feast day of the Translation of the Relics of Saint John Chrysostom. 

Before the beginning of the Liturgy Bishop tonsured Stefan Zoric, graduate student at the Orthodox Theological Faculty of the University of Belgrade.
