Serbian Patriarch received the Ambassador of Japan to Serbia

His Holiness Porfirije, Serbian Patriarch, received His Excellency Takahiko Katsumata, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Serbia, at the Serbian Patriarchate on 7 September 2021.

In a cordial atmosphere, the interlocutors pointed out the good relations between the people of Serbia and Japan, who helped each other in difficult moments. Speaking about the current challenges in the region, Serbian Patriarch Porfirije emphasized that he fervently prays that all problems be resolved peacefully through dialogue.

Ambassador Katsumata expressed satisfaction with the Patriarch's role in interfaith life in the country and the region, because, as he emphasized, he calls for mutual love at every opportunity and builds much-needed peace.

The audience was attended by the elected Bishop of Marca, Archimandrite Sava, head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch; Mr. Takahisa Kanagawa, Counselor of the Embassy of Japan; and deacon Dr. Aleksandar Prascevic, Secretary of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch.
