Patriarch Pavle of Serbia prayerfully commemorated on 11th anniversary of his repose
16. November 2020 - 13:39His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia (+ 2009) was and is greatly beloved by the Serbian Orthodox faithful and the Orthodox faithful throughout the world. Hundreds of thousands filled the streets 11 years ago to bid farewell to their holy archpastor.
And yesterday, Sunday, November 15, Patriarch Pavle was prayerfully commemorated on the 11th anniversary of his repose, as Patriarchal Vicar Bishop Stephen of Remesiana celebrated the Divine Liturgy and a memorial parastas for both Patriarch Pavle and the newly-departed Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro at Rakovica Monastery near Belgrade.
Fresco-paintings of the church at Smiljan started
14. November 2020 - 22:12With the blessing of His Grace Gerasim, Bishop of Gornji Karlovac, painting of the church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul in Smiljan started. The Serbian archpriest Milutin Tesla, father of one of the greatest scientists Nikola Tesla, served in that church as a parish priest. Nikola Tesla himself was baptized in that church in 1856.
Meeting of military chaplains with Bishop Arsenije
12. November 2020 - 11:14His Grace Bishop of Nis Arsenije, who is in charge of the Army ministry, celebrated the Holy Liturgy in the Cathedral in Nis, together with the chaplains of the Serbian Army, on November 7, 2020.
At the Small Entrance, the Rt Reverend Bishop promoted priest George Dimic, a military priest of the Land Army, to the rank of archpriest. After the dismisaal, His Grace the Bishop awarded the high decoration of the Diocese of Nis - Order of St. Roman of Djunis of the second degree to Dr. Jovica Stanojkovic, a retired colonel of the Serbian Army, for his love for the Holy Mother Church.

Within regular test procedures and after epidemiological assessment, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej was tested for SARS CoV2 with PCR test. His Holiness tested positive, yet asymptomatic and generally feeling well. His Holiness has been admitted t0 COVID hospital in Belgrade.
Metropolitan Amfilohije buried in the Cathedral church in Podgorica
2. November 2020 - 15:19Earthly remains of Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral were buried in the crypt of the Cathedral church of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica, on November 1, 2020.
The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the funeral rite was celebrated by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, with concelebration of Their Eminences Metropolitans Anthony of Borispol and Brovar (Ukrainian Orthodox Church), Andon of Elbasan (Albanian Orthodox Church) and Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana; Their Graces Bishops: Joanikije of Budimlye-Niksic and Administrator of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral; Irinej of Backa, Jovan of Sumadija, Atanasije of Milesevo, Grigorije of Dusseldorf and Germany, Joakim of Polog-Kumanovo, Teodosije of Raska-Prizren, David of Krusevac, Jovan of Slavonia, Sergije of Bihac-Petrovac, Ilarion of Timok, Arsenije of Nis, Dimitrije of Zaholm-Herzegovina, Stefan of Remesiana, Metodije of Dioclea and Bishop Emeritus Atanasije of Zaholm-Herzegovina, numerous priests and hieromonks of the Serbian Orthodox Church and some other local Orthodox Churches, in a prayerful participation of thousands of the faithful.
