Audience with Mayor of South Euclid, Ohio

With the blessings of His Grace Irinej, Bishop of Eastern America, Hiermonk Maksim (Ilic), spiritual father of New Marcha Monastery, visited Mayor Georgine Welo of the City of South Euclid. During this two-hour visit, Fr. Maksim presented the new plans for the building project of New Marcha Monastery, which was of great interest to the Mayor. The two also discussed the possibility of creating sister cities between South Euclid and Kraljevo. Mayor Georgine Welo spoke of her recent visit to Serbia, including her experiences with the people of Serbia and future joint projects.

On Tuesday, February 26, 2019 the Diocesan Council of the Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Western America, under the omophorium of His Grace Bishop Maxim, held it’s semi-annual meeting at the Saint Steven’s Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Alhambra, California.

The meeting was held on the first day of the Sts. Sebastian & Mardarije Orthodox Institute, making it convenient for council members to also attend the events of the three-day Institute.
