St. George Clearwater held its annual SerbFest on November 17-19, 2017.

It was 3 days of hard work by all our dedicated volunteers, church board members and Kolo sisters. The festival was full of great performances from various groups around Florida, including a Bulgarian group and Mexican group who delighted all our visitors with their dancing.

On the feast day of Holy Great Martyr Barbara and Saint John Damascus, on 17th December 2017, the 230th anniversary of the Cathedral church and 10th anniversary of its great restoration was celebrated solemnly at the Cathedral church of Saint Nicholas of Myra in Karlovac.

The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was officiated by Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana, Bishop Nikodim of Dalmatia and the competent Diocesan Bishop Gerasim of Gornji Karlovac, with the concelebration of the clergy from the dioceses of Zagreb-Ljubljana, Dalmatia and Gornji Karlovac. A choir Saint Theodor from Vrsac, Serbia, sang responses. The Liturgy was attended by Zupan of Karlovac Mr. Damir Jelic, Mayor of Karlovac Mr. Damir Mandic and the Franciscan monastery guardian Fr. Krunoslav Albert.

The Serbian Orthodox Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro consecrated a corner-stone of a church dedicated  to the Holy Trinity in Resistencia in Argentina.

On Saturday, 16 December 2017, on the feast-day of Holy Prophet Sophronius and Saint John the Silent, His Eminence Amfilohije, Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral and His Grace Bishop Kiril of Dioclea celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy with the concelebration of Revd. parish priest Marko Obradovic from Brazil and protodeacon Vladimir Jaramaz, in Resistencia, a place where the church of the Holy Trinity will be built for spiritual  needs of all Orthodox people of this town and the province of Chaco.

That borders do not exist for Christ’s Church and His Saints has been and continues to be confirmed through the numerous examples during the two thousand year history of the Church. It will be confirmed until the end of the world and time.

One of the blessed examples of the Lord’s limitless love and the breadth of the Orthodox Church, is this year’s celebration of the newly revealed St. Mardarije of Serbia, Ljesan-Libertyville, All-America and All-Orthodox.

On 13 January 2017, in a hall of the Saint Sava Parish House in Srpska Varos in town Brcko, Republic of Srpska, there was held a meeting of Bishop Fotije of Zvornik-Tuzla with representatives of the Brcko District authorities, headed by Mayor Mr. Sinisa Milic, as well as with representatives of educational and other institutions of the District.

Two topics  were discussed: first – establishing of an Orthodox Grammar school in Brcko, and the second one– considering  a projectof the internal design of the Cultural and Administrative Centre of the Serbian Orthodox Church-School Community of Brcko. The meeting was opened by protopresbyter-staurophor Nebojsa Draskic, principal of the Cathedral church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God in Brcko, who reported on the projects and phases they might be implemented.
