Patriarch Irinej meets with academician Sergey Novikov

His Holiness Irinej Serbian Patriarch receieved today in the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade academician Sergey Novikov, one of the greatest mathematician of today and the winner of the Fields Medal in 1970.

Celebration of St. Jovan Vladimir in Crna reka monastery

In the Crna Reka monastery the feast day of St. King Jovan Vladimir was celebrated to whom the monastery chapel is devoted. The Divine Liturgy was served by His Grace Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren with the priesthood of the Diocese. Also this years' Patron Saint's Day was a good opportunity for the faithful people from the area and other parts of Serbia to gather in Crna Reka. Following the Divine Liturgy Bishop Teodosije blessed and cut the slava cake with the abbot of the Crna Reka monastery protosyngellos Jovan.

Jubilee of Bishop Hrizostom of Bihac-Petrovac

On the occasion of 20 years since the election and the ordination (1991)as the bishop of His Grace Hrizostom of Bihac-Petrovac, with the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, prepared on Thursday, May 26 2011 the solemn lunch in a great patriarchal hall for all members of the Holy Synod of Bishops for all members of the Holy Assembly of Bishops and special guests.

Kopaonik gets Orthodox church

His Grace Bishop Hrizostom of Zica, Mr. Nebojsa Skoric, manager of JP Ski Resorts of Serbia with associates, and representatives of the Municipality of Raska held yesterday on June 9, 2011 on Kopaonik the business meeting. On this occasion the location was determined in our most famous mountain tourist resort, not far from Konaci hotel, on which an Orthodox church is going to be built. They agreed to begin all necessary activities to create conditions for making the project documentation and building of the church.  

Whit ceremonies begin at Kalemegdan

With the blessing of His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch last night, on June 9, 2011, the traditional Whit Ceremonies began at the plateau facing the church of St. Petka on the Kalemegdan. The ceremonies will finish on the Whit Tuesday, until when visitors will have an opportunity every day at 19h to follow programs in which eminent artists, opera singers, choirs, drama artists and poets will participate.
