Metropolitan Amfilohije: Metropolitanate expects the State respects the centuries-long structure of the Church

Metropolitan Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral said yesterday that the Mitropolitanate respects the independant state of Montenegro, but it is expecting that the state respects the centuries-long structure of the Church. Otherwise, justice will be sought in Brussels and Strasbourg.
He indicated that the Church in Montenegro has been existed for eight centuries and that it was and remains "the spinal cord" of the state, as he said, which was practically created in the time of the Petrovic dynasty. Amfilohije said that there were hints from the Government of Montenegro that it would stop the persecution of priests and monks, and if not, the SOC, i.e. Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral will address the Brussels, Strasbourg and all relevant international institutions.

In the mansion of St. Prohor Pčinjski Monastery, on June 9, 2011 the Scientific meeting entitled "800 YEARS OF SERBIAN MEDICINE" was opened, organized by the Section for history of medicine of the Serbian Medical Society, the oldest medical association in our country. The aim of this meeting was to encourage a creation of the Institute for the history of medicine.
