The Permanent Committee on Consensus and Collaboration (PCCC), an elected body of the Central Committee of the World Council of Churches (WCC), was hosted by His Eminence Metropolitan Dr Vassilios of Constantia-Ammochostos of the Church of Cyprus from 4-6 November 2012 in Paralimni, Cyprus. His Eminence is the chair of the Faith and Order Commission of the WCC.

C O N C L U S I O N S

Departing from the Everlasting values and permanent actuality of Edict of Milan, at the eve of the Great Jubilee 2013, the participants of the conference THE EDICT OF MILAN (313-2013): A BASIS FOR FREEDOM OF RELIGION OR BELIEF?, organized in the city of Novi Sad (SERBIA) from 2nd till 5th may 2012 discussed different aspects of ways in which the everlasting symbolic message associated with the so called Edict of Milan could be the source of inspiration and the guideline for practical implementation of principle of Freedom of Religion or Belief. The conference was organized and hosted by the Serbian Orthodox Church, His Grace Bishop Irinej of Backa and the Association of NGOs in SEE, CIVIS, in partnership with PRO ORIENTE Foundation and Peace and Crises Management Foundation and in cooperation with CEC. It brought together theologians, historians and experts from different religious communities from all over the Europe and even beyond. The participants expressed their appreciation and gratitude for the excellent framework for a fruitful exchange of views in an atmosphere of mutual respect, which the organizers have provided. The following conclusions, offered by the organizers of the conference, may serve as a basis for the future cooperation in promoting freedom of religion or belief.

From 28-30 October, the Volos Academy for Theological Studies held the first international conference and honorary event entitled "Metropolitan of Pergamon John Zizioulas: Person, Eucharist, and the Kingdom of God in Orthodox and Ecumenical Perspective." The conference, as well as the entire honorary event, were broadcast live on the internet TV channel intv.gr .

The Central Committee of the Conference of European Churches would like to encourage the member churches to make their ministry with and for Roma minorities more visible, and take further steps to overcome barriers between minority and majority communities.

The CEC Central Committee appreciates the adoption of the EU Framework for national strategies for Roma integration by the EU during the Hungarian EU Presidency in June 2011, and wishes to encourage the member and partner organisations to get actively involved in the development of the national strategies.

Delegation of the Committee for Jasenovac of the SOC on the Holocaust Remembrance Day in Jerusalem

On the Eve of the Holocaust Remembrance Day, on Sunday May 1st, delegation of the Committee for Jasenovac which consisted of protosyngellos Mr Jovan Culibrk, coordinator of the Committee and monk Mr Pavle Kondic by special invitation participated the central ceremony in the Memorial institution Yad Vashem in Jerusalem. During the ceremony President of Israel Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave speeches, while the central part of the ceremony was lighting the six memorial torches in memory of six million killed Jews during the World War Two.  On behalf of the Patriarchate of Jerusalem at the ceremony Arcbishop Aristarch of Constantina, the Secretary General of the Holy Synod, participated, as well as the representatives of other Christian communities in the Holy Land.
