St.Mark's Day Procession in Podgorica with the relics of Venerable Symeon of Dajbabe
The traditional St.Mark's Day procession was held in the streets of Podgorica in the evening on May 8, 2010, for the first time with the relics of newly canonized saint of our Church Venerable Symeon of Dajbabe. The procession, in which great deal of faithful of Podgorica took part, was led by His Eminence Amfilohije Archbishop of Cetinje and Metropolitan of Montenegro and the Littoral and Their Graces Bishops: Joanikije of Budimlje-Niksic, Irinej of Australia-New Zealand and Jovan of Dioclea, with many priests and monks.
Russian monks and pilgrims from Siberian towns of Krasnoyarsk and Norilsk, who make these days a pilgrimage in Montenegro.
The procession went from St George church under Gorica until the place where once was an early Christian monastery of St. Mark.
After the memorial service Metropolitan Amfilohije had a sermon.
After the end of the procession, at the premises of the Church community of Podgorica a table of love was prepared. The slava cake was blessed and cut by His Grace Bishop Irinej of Australia-New Zealand.
