St Vitus Day in Kosovo and Metohija

Commemorating St Vitus Day in Grachanica is followed by many cultural manifestations which begin fifteen days before the actual holiday. As
a part of this manifestations book promotions, concerts, photo exhibitions and pictures, young poets' evenings. Last two evenings before St Vitus Day are reserved for two most visited events - " Most beautiful girl of Kosovo" and " St Vitus Day poet communion".

A vigil was served by Bishop Filaret of Mileshevo with concelebration
of a great number of priests. The vigil was attended by Metropolitan
Amfilohije of Montenegro and the Littoral, Bishop Artemije of Raska
and Prizren, vicar Bishop Teodosije of Lipljan, the dean of Prizren
Seminary protopresbyter-staurophor Milutin Timotijevic and other
faithful people.

"St Vitus Day poet communion" was also attended by minister for Kosovo and Metohija Goran Bogdanovic, minister of culture Nebojsa Bradic,
minister of Faith Bogoljub Sijakovic, councilor of President of Serbia
Mladjan Djordjevic, secretary of state at the Ministry for Kosovo and
Metohija Oliver Ivanovic as well as representatives of local
authorities.

The program began with cutting slava cake by Bishop Artemije.

On Sunday morning, at the e monastery of Grachanica, the Holy Synod of
Bishops was served by His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije of
Montenegro and the Littoral with the concelebration of bishops:
Artemije of Raska and Prizren, Filaret of Mileshevo, Teodosije of
Lipljan and priests and monks of Diocese of Raska and Prizren.

Lots of faithful people gathered from all parts of Kosovo and Metohija,
Serbia, Montenegro and Republic of Srpska with Prince Aleksandar
Karadjordjevic with his wife Katarina, ministers and representatives
of the Serbian government and Serbian president.

After the Holy liturgy, at Gazimestan, His Eminence Metropolitan Amfilohije served the memorial service with concelebration of bishop Artemije and bishop Teodosije and ten thousand people.
