Young Christians of Egypt pay a visit to the Alexandrian Primate
On 2nd February 2017, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, welcomed to the Patriarchate, a group of around 140 pupils, together with their teachers, who traveled from the capital, Cairo, to convey their wishes on the day of the Feast of the Meeting of the Lord and the arrival of the New Year 2017.
Visibly emotional in the presence of the teachers, His Beatitude spoke to the pupils about the spiritual treasure of knowledge, the suffering children of Africa, the difficulties that they face and the efforts made by the patriarchate for their education, throughout the African Continent. He also expressed his satisfaction to the teachers on the important work of Christian upbringing of the youth that they are doing, and thanked them for visiting the See of the Apostle Mark in the Great City of Alexandria.
The pupils, wanting to show their gratitude to His Beatitude for his warm paternal welcome, chanted church hymns and sang Christian songs.
At the end of the meeting, His Beatitude gave all the pupils commemorative gifts.
