Serbian Patriarch visits Rabbi Arthur Schneier in New York | Serbian Orthodox Church [Official web site]Appeal of Conscience Foundation mourns the death of His Beatitude Patriarch Irinej of Serbia, eminent religious leader of his people. On March 20th in the midst of the pandemic I was honored to welcome His Beatitude at Park East Synagogue to further our joint efforts for religious freedom, peaceful coexistence and inter-religious cooperation.

In his memory we will carry on. Sincere condolences to the Serbian people and the Orthodox Christian world.

“A long effort by successive governments since 2006, when Law 3512 was passed, has been completed. Greece sends a clear message inside and outside the country, of democracy, religious freedom and respect,” said General Secretary of Religions Giorgos Kalantzis, reports Ekathimerini.

An encyclical, though, is per se a universal text, and Pope Francis truly wants to speak to the heart of each and every person. The Holy See Press Office announces that the text will be published on 4 October.

Move a rock in Israel, find an archaeological site. Now, ahead of building a playground for kiddies in the Circassian village of Kafr Kama, archaeologists conducting a “salvage excavation” have found the ruins of a 1,300-year-old church dating to the Byzantine period.
