Ethiopian Orthodox Christians Celebrate Meskel Feast
28. September 2015 - 12:09The Ethiopian Orthodox Christians celebrated the great and holy feast of the finding of true cross at Meskel Square in the Captial City of Addis Ababa. The holy event was blessed by His Holiness Abune Mathias – Patriarch of Ethiopia in the divine presence of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II- Patriarch on the See of St. Mark the Evangelist. Archbishops, clergy from Coptic and Ethiopian churches, Sunday school students along with thousands of faithful participated in the colourful event.
ISIS Abducts 12 Egyptians in Libya
28. September 2015 - 9:57The Islamic State in Libya has abducted 12 more Egyptians. They were reportedly laborers preparing to return back to Egypt. According to RT Arabic, the Egyptians were abducted in Sirte, late in the evening of Sunday, September 13.
Coptic Christians are among those kidnapped. The Egyptian ministry has not issued a statement either confirming or denying the news.

The Primate of the Coptic Orthodox Church is accompanied by a high-level delegation from Egypt. Pope Tawadros II met with Patriarch Abune Mathias of Ethiopia in Addis Abba.
The story of Japan's hidden Christians emerges from the Vatican archives
23. September 2015 - 8:55Collected by a Salesian missionary to Japan in the early 20th century, letters and documents showing the history of Christians in the land of the rising sun have been recently restored by the Vatican archives and library.
The collection conveys the story of the persecution of Christians in Japan, a story that Pope Francis has often recalled when speaking of the "hidden Christians" who knew how to keep and pass on the faith in a time of persecution, and even when deprived of priests.
Russian Foreign Ministry calls for averting of further degradation of situation around Jerusalem holy sites
17. September 2015 - 11:04The Russian Foreign Ministry said that Moscow views as alarming the growth of tension in Jerusalem, which is a holy city for representatives of three monotheistic religions.
"We insistently urge the Palestinian and Israeli sides to show restraint and take immediate steps to prevent the situation in East Jerusalem from further sliding into the confrontational sphere," the Russian foreign political agency said in its comments.
