ISIS Release 10 Assyrian Hostages in Syria
26. November 2015 - 10:22ISIS today released 10 Assyrians that it captured on February 23 when it attacked the 35 Assyrian villages on the Khabur river in the Hasaka province. ISIS captured 253 in the initial attack and drove 3,000 Assyrians from their villages. Most have not returned.
Five of the ten Assyrians who were released are women.
Queen calls for unity at Church of England general synod
26. November 2015 - 10:11The Queen has called for unity among Christians at the opening of the Church of England's national assembly.
She said the previous synod would be remembered for approving legislation to enable women to be bishops - a move which had long been disputed by many traditionalists.
Moscow Court Bans Church of Scientology
24. November 2015 - 14:34A court in Moscow has banned the local branch of the Church of Scientology, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported from the courtroom Monday.
During the inspection the Russian Ministry of Justice found out that the word ‘scientology’ had been registered as a trade mark owned by the US Religious Technology Center.

23. November 2015 - 16:43Mere days after terror attacks in Beirut and Paris, the theme of an interfaith meeting of Christians and Muslims at the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva on “Religion, Peace and Violence” was entirely appropriate, said participants.
They spent two days candidly and honestly speaking about their faiths, in a dialogue between Shia Muslims from the Islamic Republic of Iran associated with the Centre for Interreligious Dialogue (CID) and Christians involved in the World Council of Churches (WCC).
Ancient Greek New Testament Papyrus Almost Sold on Ebay
23. November 2015 - 13:34Geoffrey Smith, a scholar of early Christianity studies at the University of Texas found a strange Ebay entry last January. An ancient Greek papyrus with quotes from the Gospel of John was being sold at a starting price of 99 dollars.

Putin the ‘Only Defender of Christianity’ – Bashar Assad
18. November 2015 - 15:54Syrian President Bashar Assad considers Russia’s Vladimir Putin as the “only defender of Christian civilization one can trust.”
“When I look at the present state of things in the world I realize that Vladimir Putin is the sole defender of Christian civilization one can rely on,” Assad said in an interview with French magazine Valeurs Actuelles.
