Call for Christians to return home to Iraq

The Iraqi Prime Minister has called on Christians to return home to Iraq after the defeat of the so-called Islamic State.The Assyrian International News Agency (AINA) reported that the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, said with the defeat of the so-called Islamic State in Iraq, Iraqi Christian immigrants should return home.

Iconoclasm No More: UK Returns 12 Stolen Orthodox Relics to Greece

Greece recently welcomed back 12 stolen Greek Orthodox icons from the United Kingdom. The priceless religious art pieces were stolen in 2005 from the Monastery of the Dormition of the Visokos Virgin, which is located near the village of Kalouta in the Zagori municipality of Epirus. They were returned by the UK last month, the Greek Ministry of Culture and Sports announced on Tuesday, reported the Greek City Times.

Greek President calls on 14 European heads of state to condemn conversion of Hagia Sophia into a mosque

In a letter sent to the 14 non-executive presidents of EU Member States and Arraiolos Group members, the President of the Hellenic Republic calls on them to raise their voices and condemn the Turkish decision to convert an emblematic monument of European history, such as Hagia Sophia, into a mosque.  Referring to the common European identity, common values and their common vision for the future of Europe, Katerina Sakellaropoulou points out that Hagia Sophia is an emblematic monument and an integral part of the common European heritage. It is a unique combination of art and faith and, as such, has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Hagia Sophia, she adds, is protected by the Convention for the protection of the world cultural and natural heritage, adopted by the UNESCO Member States in 1972.

New president of „Christian Solidarity“

New president of Christian Solidarity International human rights organization is electedOn 27 July 2020, Dr. John Eibner, former CEO of Christian Solidarity International human rights organization, was elected its new president.

Dr. John Eibner is notable for his activism and numerous speeches and publications in defence of persecuted Christians. Since 1990 he has been working for Christian Solidarity International, participating in all its key projects and visiting conflict zones.

Move a rock in Israel, find an archaeological site. Now, ahead of building a playground for kiddies in the Circassian village of Kafr Kama, archaeologists conducting a “salvage excavation” have found the ruins of a 1,300-year-old church dating to the Byzantine period.

Genocide of Orthodox Christians and Minorities in Ethiopia

Various reports from Ethiopia state that various radical Oromo groups back in action, killing and murdering innocent non-Oromo ethnic population.

All began with the killing of the popular Oromo musician Haacaaluu Hundeessaa earlier this week. His murder unleashed the terror on non-ormo ethnic communities by Ormo radicals. The police detained a few people in response to the murder.
