Maronite Church to launch food and social assistance plan in Lebanon
12. May 2020 - 21:57Patriarch Bechara al-Rahi yesterday announced that the Maronite Church, alarmed by rising poverty in the Lebanese population, will undertake an ambitious country-wide plan to provide food and social assistance to families without income as a result of the current economic crisis.
The plan will be based on a survey conducted by parishes, bishoprics and monasteries as well as Caritas-Liban, the Church’s official charity, coordinated by the Maronite Center for Documentation and Research under Patriarchal Vicar Samir Mazloum.

The Coptic Church allows weddings with few guests
4. May 2020 - 19:44The Coptic Orthodox Church opens its doors to weddings, but with strict restrictions, that is, in the presence of only the bride and groom and a maximum of six guests.
The bride and groom will have to sign a certificate acknowledging that the maximum number of guests allowed to attend the church will not exceed six.
