Orthodox church set ablaze twice in less than a month in Sudan

Christian churches are under attack in Sudan.

Three churches, including an Orthodox church, have been burnt down twice in the span of less than a month in the village of Bout in the Blue Nile state of the Republic of Sudan. The other churches attacked are from the Catholic Church and the Sudan Internal Church, reports the local Human Rights and Development Organization (HUDO).

OCP Secretariat Slams Anti-Church Law in Montenegro

The Secretariat of Orthodoxy Cognate PAGE (Pan-Orthodox Christian Society) slammed the new anti-Church Law adopted by the Government of Montenegro. George Alexander, Secretary stated that the current law is terrible discrimination against the Serbian Orthodox Church. This is part of an ongoing war against Orthodoxy, he added.

Pope sends 100,000 euros to Albania earthquake victims

Pope Francis showed his solidarity to earthquakes victims in Albania by sending a contribution of 100,000 euros. The money was raised through the Vatican’s Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development and will be used to meet the needs of the earthquake victims.

Cypriot President’s visit to Pope Francis and invitation for a return Pontifical visit

An invitation to Pope Francis to visit Cyprus, which was accepted and will be settled next year, was addressed today by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nicos Anastasiades, who paid an official visit to the Holy See.

Accompanied by his wife Andri Anastasiades and members of the Cypriot delegation, President Anastasiades arrived this morning at the Vatican, where he was formally welcomed.
