The memory of the flooded church in Drinjaca has not been faded out

On May 24, 2020, His Grace Fotije, Bishop of Zvornik and Tuzla, officiated the Holy Archhierarchal Liturgy on the occasion of the 115th anniversary of the consecration of the church of Saints Cyril and Methodius at Drinjača, which was flooded over during the construction of the hydroelectric power plant in 1955.
In the new church dedicated to the Holy Deacon Habakkuk, the Bishop was concelebrated by protopresbyter-staurophor Vidoje Lukić, Bishop’s dean in Zvornik, protopresbyter-staurophor Slavenko Tomić, parish priest in Zvornik, presbyter Mladen Pantić, parish priest in Medjaš-Trnjača, and protodeacon Slavoljub Milosevic.

On 24th May 2020, on the sixth Sunday after Pascha - the Sunday of the Blind, the Holy Brothers, Equal-to-the-Apostles Cyril and Methodius were solemnly celebrated in the Church of the Resurrection of the Lord, the Chilandar metochion in Nis.
On that day, the Church patron saint day was celebrated (the Sunday of Myrrh-bearing women), whose solemn celebration was postponed for the day when the Theological Seminary in Nis celebrates its patron saint day as well. That is why the Paschal service was sung at the Liturgy.

On the feast of the Translation of the Relics of Saint Nicholas of Myra, on May 22, 2020, His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Irinej presided over the Holy Archhierarchal Liturgy in St. Nicholas Church (18th C.) in Zemun, Belgrade.
The Serbian Patriarch was concelebrated by abbot of the Tuman monastery, Archimandrite Dimitrije; archpriest staurophor Djordje Knezevic, hieromonk Petar of Tuman, priests Vukasin Teofilovic, Andjelko Doder and Ivan Faranov, as well as archdeacon Stevan Rapajic and deacon Hadzi Dragan S. Tanasijevic.
The President with the Patriarch: Politics interferes with the internal organization of the Church in Montenegro

His Holiness Irinej, the Serbian Patriarch, said after a meeting with President Aleksandar Vucic that it was clear that Milo Djukanovic’s plan was that in Montenegro there was no longer the Serbian Orthodox Church or Serbian Orthodox people. President Vucic points out that politics interferes with the internal Church organization and essentially spiritual matters, and even wants to establish a new church in Montenegro.
President Aleksandar Vucic and Serbian Patriarch Irinej discussed the situation of the Serbian people and the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro. Patriarch Irinej said that the situation in Montenegro was more difficult than it had ever been in history.
30th anniversary of the consecration of Bishop Irinej of Backa

On Wednesday, 20 May 2020 it has been 30 years since the consecration of Bishop Irinej of Backa.
At the regular session of the Holy Assembly of Bishops of the Serbian Orthodox Church in 1989, hieromonk Irinej was elected as Vicar Bishop of the Serbian Patriarch, with a title of Bishop of Moravica, and following the consecration at the Patriarchate of Pec, on 20 May 2020, he was elected Bishop of Backa and was enthroned in Novi Sad, in December of the same year.

May 2020 - 20:38A great attention has been paid to an exceptional video material put on the YouTube in the form of conjoint video "We won’t give up our shrines! - support from over 30 countries around the world", which was initiated by a Serbian theologian Krsto Stanisic, and realized by a team of young people led by Georgina Stanisic. Krsto Stanišić, a PhD student in theology in Germany, is talking for the Radio “Slovo ljubve AEM” about the recording and realization of this very demanding project and the response to it.
He says that support comes from many people around the world, regardless to their nationality and religion: "They are honest people and they all share the admiration for the prayer procession for protecting the shrines and to the people of Montenegro. There are many more than 30 countries from which people are interested in what has been happening in the Montenegro. The people have recognized the meaning of the prayer procession. The profoundness of the prayer procession is a global meaning. The message - We won’t give our shrines- is a global message. The biblical scenes have been taking place in Montenegro. The prayer procession is something truly universal in the world. It is something that Montenegro has to offer not only to Europe but to all the humanity as well!”
