Patriarch Irinej expresses best wishes to the Radio Slovo ljubve

“By its broadcasting the Radio Slovo ljubve (Word of Love) has strengthened the mission of the Serbian Church in the past decade,” His Holiness Patriarch Mr. Irinej pointed out in his message to this Church Radio on the occasion of its 10th anniversary.

“In this year when we mark the great jubilee of the 800 years of the autocephaly of the Serbian Orthodox Church, we are glad to express Our best wishes to the editors, journalists, employees and all associates of the Radio Slovo ljubve of the Archdiocese of Belgrade-Karlovci on the occasion of ten years of their committed activity and regular broadcasting that has strengthened the mission of our local Church in the past decade . We offer Our prayerful wishes that our Church Radio may continue to strengthen the faith of our people in the future, spreading the Word of the Gospel to the world, to the glory the Creator, and for the benefit of the Church and our Fatherland. Many years!” said the Patriarch Irinej in his written message.

Patron Saint-day of the monastery of Saint Petka in Zagreb

On Sunday, 14/27 October 2019, on the feast day of Venerable mother Parascheva, in Zagreb the Patron Saint-day dedicated to this saint was celebrated.

His Eminence Metropolitan Porfirije of Zagreb-Ljubljana officiated the Holy Liturgy with the concelebration of local priests.

The first 125 years of Jackson's gem

The oldest Serbian Orthodox parish in North America, dedicated to Saint Sava, in Jackson, California, festively celebrated its 125^th anniversary during the weekend of 18^th-20^th of October, 2019.

The commemoration of the jubilee began in the Amador County Public Library, where the parish clergy and parishioners presented several books that constitute the DNA of our community: The Christian Heritage of Kosovo and Metohija, The Serbian Christian Heritage of America, The Lives of Saint Mardarije of Libertyville and Saint Sebastian of Jackson, All Roads Lead to Jackson (on history and importance of the Serbian community in this city and region) and The Icons of Saint Sava Church in Jackson (with the parish history and explanation of frescoes).
