Patron Saint-day of Saint Demetrius in New Belgrade

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch, celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church dedicated to this saint in New Belgrade on 8 November 2019, the feast day of Holy Great Martyr Demetrius.

His Holiness was welcomed by the church principal protopresbyter-staurophor Rajko Nedic with the local clergy, the faithful and guests.

Seminar for the Clergy of the Metropolitanate of Dabar-Bosnia

a one-day seminar of the clergy of the Metropolitanate of the Dabar-Bosnia was held at the amphitheater of Theology in Foca on November 5, 2019.

With the blessing of the His Eminence Metropolitan Hrizostom of Dabar-Bosnia, the main topic of the seminar was Theology and Pastoral ministry. The Metropolitan held the opening address. Bishops’ Deputy protopresbyter-staurophor prof. Dr. Vladislav Topalovic welcomed the assembled clergy.

St Arsenije Of Srem, The Second Archbishop Of Serbia

St. Arsenije, the second archbishop of Serbia, was the most ascetic of the brotherhood and the most responsible student of Saint Sava. Regarding his spiritual development, the founder of the autocephalous Serbian church was particularly concerned for and tried to protect his spirit. He would successfully develop the young serbian archbishop, which was crucial for the serbian state and its public life throughout the middle ages. In his history, the excellent biography written by the archbishop Danilo II, he states that St. arsenije was a native of srem, of which historical records show that the medieval territory included present-day Srem and Posavina, the Kolubara valley, all the way to the regions’ limits.

Patron Saint-day of Venerable Prohor of Pcinja

The solemn celebration of 950th anniversary of the monastery of Venerable Prohor of Pcinja was marked on the Eve of the feast day, 31 October 2019, with All Night Vigil service officiated by His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch.

His Holiness was concelebrated by the clergy of the Diocese of Vranje and clerics from other dioceses of the Serbian Orthodox Church. His Beatitude Archbishop Jovan of Ohrid also attended the Vigil service.

Serbian Patriarch received Ambassador of Greece

His Holiness Irinej, Serbian Patriarch received a newly appointed Ambassador fo Greece to Serbia, His Excellency Mr. Giorgos Diakofotakis at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on 1 November 2019.

Big distinction to Minister Sinisa Mali

On the feast day of Saint Longin of Sotnik, 29 October 2019, His Grace Bishop Jovan of Sumadija served the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of the Descent of Holy Spirit upon Apostles in Barzilovici, near Lazarevac.

His Grace was concelebrated by abbot of the monastery of Holy Great Martyr George in Celije Dositej, diocesan dean of Kolubara-Posavina protopresbyter-staurophor Zlatko Dimitrijevic, protopresbyter-staurophor Marko Mitic, presbyter Rasko Stjepanovic, protodeacon Ivan Gasic and deacon Nikola Urosevic.
