BiH Foreign Minister meets with Bishop Irinej

His Excellency Igor Crnadak, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, took time out of his busy schedule to pay a courtesy visit to His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America on Saturday, November 30, 2019.

His Grace received his distinguished visitor at the Episcopal Residence and Eastern American Diocesan Center in New Rochelle, New York, where many interests shared in common were discussed, followed by the customary exchange of gifts.

On the Feast Day of the Holy Archangels, November 21, 2019, His Grace Bishop Irinej of Eastern America celebrated the Holy and Divine Hierarchical Liturgy, at the Russian Orthodox Cathedral of the Theotokos of the Sign, for the parishioners of St. Sava Cathedral. Concelebrating with him were Fr. Zivojin Jakovljevic and Protodeacon Jovan Anicic.

Following the Festal Liturgy attended by many of the faithful from the Five Boroughs and surrounds, including some Russian faithful, Bishop Irinej paid a visit to his Cathedral See in New York City to review the ongoing, impressive reconstruction endeavor.

Serbia His Grace Bishop Milutin of Valjevo with the clergy from Valjevo and Ub consecrated a school at Slatina, and a filial class of the Primary School “Saint Sava” at Pambukovica.

This holy rite was organized on the initiative of the principal of the school Slavica Marjanovic and representatives of the Municipality of Ub. Parents of children and friends from the school were present. A rich cultural program followed the church rite.

On Sunday, 24 November 2019, on the feast day of Holy King Stefan of Dechani, the first Hierarchal Liturgy in a new church of Saint Apostle and Evangelist Mark in Braunau, Austria, was officiated.

His Grace Bishop Andreas of Austria-Switzerland presided over the Liturgy with the concelebration of the local clergy. School children who attend religious instructions sang responses as well.

On the feast-day of the Holy Apostle Philip, His Beatitude Theophilus, Patriarch of Jerusalem, received His Grace Bishop Arsenije of Nis with a group of pilgrims from Serbia in the monastery of the Holy Prophet Elijah near the Holy City of Jerusalem.

It was in this monastery that the “Branko” Children's Choir from Serbia performed several Serbian, Greek and Georgian compositions in presence of the Patriarch, the Bishops and the local community. The performance was held with the blessing of His Beatitude the Patriarch and great affection and love of the Fraternal Choir of the Holy Apostle James of Jerusalem. The fraternal relationship between the two choirs dates back to a few years ago when the choir of the Holy Apostle James gave concerts in Belgrade and Nis, organized and sponsored by the Diocese of Nis. At the end of the performance, the Patriarch of Jerusalem blessed and instructed the members of the choir from Serbia and those present with Gospel words, wishing to the children to be even more zealous in glorifying God and setting a good example for the youth.

On the 22nd Sunday after Pentecost, on 17 November 2019, Holy Liturgy was served in the Cathedral church of Saint Sava in Vienna.

Presbyter Miljan Antic officiated the Liturgy with the concelebration of presbyter Filip Milunovic, dean of the church; archpriest Dragan Budak and presbyter Djordje Pantelic, Jovan Govedarica and deacon Miladin Vujkovic and Jovan Vasic, deacon from Cathedral church in Herceg Novi (Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral). Before the beginning of the Holy Liturgy, a procession was organized around the city district where the church is located. Headed by priests, a large number of the faithful took part in the procession and carried the Precious Cross, that was solemnly placed inside the church for veneration of the faithful.
