Feast Day in the Orthodox Archbishopric of Ohrid

The Feast of Summer Passover, as it is called in the Orthodox Church, the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin, is solemnly celebrated in all places of worship of the Orthodox Archdiocese of Ohrid.

His Beatitude Archbishop of Ohrid and Metropolitan of Skopje John served the evening service at the Monastery of the Dormition of the Most Holz Mother of God at Prilep, while at the feast he worshiped the Liturgy at the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary near Skopje.

Patron Saint-day of Gracanica monastery

Gracanica Monastery, the endowment of Holy King Stephan MIlutin, celebrated its church slava - the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God.

The Holy Liturgy was served with the blessing of His Grace Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren who is in a visit to the Diocee of Western America, Archimandrite Hilarion, aboot of the monastery Draganac with the concelebration of Archimandrite Luka, abbot of Karno monastery near Srebrenica and the clergy of the Deanery of Prishtina.

Church slava of Ljubostinje Monastery

On the day of the church slava of the monastery of Ljubostinje - the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, His Grace Bishop David of Krusevac celebrated the Holy Liturgy besides relics of the Venerable Ephrosinia at this monastery.

The local clergy concelebrated to the Bishop. The Slava cake was broken in honor of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God.

A great feast day of Most Holy Mother of God was celebrated in ancient shrines in Mrtvica and Korbevcu

On the Eve of the feast day of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God, on 27 August 2019, His Grace BIshop Pahomije of Vranje served the Vigil service in the monastery in the village of Mrtvica near Dzep, an ancient sacred place dedicated to the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God. On the feast day, Bishop Pahomije celebrated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God.

Our Bishop Maxim from Los Angeles with his guests Bishop Sergije of Bihać-Petrovac, Bishop Dimitrije of Zahumlje, Herzegovina and the Littoral, and Bishop David of Stobi (Archdiocese of Ohrid), visit Saint Sava Church in Jackson, California to venerate the relics of St. Sebastian of Jackson during their US visit to celebrate the 800th anniversary of autocephaly of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
