On the feast day of Saint Nicholas, the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was served by His Grace Bishop Dimitrije of Zahumlje-Herzegovina with the concelebration of priests and monks from many dioceses at the Tvrdos Monastery.

After the Holy Gospel Reading, Bishop Atanasije held a sermon. After the blessing of slava cake and wheat Bishop Dimitrije greeted all the present and congratulated slava to Bishop Atanasije and all who celebrate it.

His Holiness Irinej, the Serbian Patriarch, received His Excellency Harry Richard James Kandou, the Ambassador of Indonesia to the Republic of Serbia at the Serbian Patriarchate in Belgrade on 17 December 2018.

His Holiness Patriarch Irinej of Serbia christened young Prince Stefan, the son of Their Royal Highnesses Prince Philip and Princess Danica, at the Royal Chapel of St. Andrew the First-Called in the Royal Compound in Dedinje, Belgrade, Serbia.

Joining the Patriarch in officiating the christening was His Grace Bishop Lavrentije of Sabac who married TRH Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine in 1985, and also christened Princes Philip and Alexander.

The Royal Family of Serbia celebrated today its Patron Saint’s Day – St. Andrew the First Called, at the Royal Palace in Belgrade.

The hosts are Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, together with their family – TRH Prince Philip, Princess Danica, Prince Stefan and Prince Alexander, and the celebration at the Palace was attended by the religious leaders, members of the Advisory Bodies of the Crown, as well as by the friends of the Royal Family.

As stated in the official UNESCO’s report, Singing to the Accompaniment of the Gusle was inscribed on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2018.

During the thirteenth session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage that took place at Port Louis, Republic of Mauritius, from Monday 26 November to Saturday 1 December 2018 at the Swami Vivekananda International Convention Centre (SVICC), it was decided that Singing to the Accompaniment of the Gusle will enter UNESCO’s List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Over the six days, the twenty-four States Members of the Committee, elected by the General Assembly of the 2003 Convention, have discussed a number of issues that are important for the safeguarding of living heritage around the world. On this occasion, the agenda of the meeting included the issue “Inscriptions on the Lists”, which led to the expansion of the List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
